Where to donate furniture and they will pick it up?
 

Will GoodWill or the Salvation Army come to your house and pick up furniture you'd like to donate? I have a bunch of old furniture I'd like to donate, but no way am I making 10 trips with various couches, ottomans and love seats strapped to the roof of the car.

They do pick up in most areas. Find a women and children's shelter too. Big Brothers & Big Sisters picks up also. At least here in Tucson they do. Best of luck!

Goodwill picks up large items like that

also try craigslist for your local area and see if you can find a family that needs it :)

If you don't find a place to come get them, just put them out by the road. People will stop and take them.

I live in a condo complex. I don't think that the condo association nor the town would particularly care for that approach.

Cool, the salvation army said they'd do a pickup and even give receipts for tax purposes.

Salvation Army will do it in most parts of the states but dude it is sooooooo hard find somebody that will pick-up.

I called 8 or 9 major charities a couple of months ago trying to arrange pick-up for donations from my entire condo building.

Not only did not of them do it but NONE of them could refer somebody who could. :-(

Shouldn't be so hard to make a donation, so many people in need, have to make it easier.

you know.. I had the same problem uno.. I had a ton of stuff ( cause I am moving in with the GF) so we had extra tables, desks, and a ton of other nice shit to give away here in vegas..

so called,
community outside.. 2 month waiting list.
I called safe-net ( a place where women go if they are beat on) 3 weeks waiting list.
then I called one other place..and it was still in aug sometime..

I was like fuck this.,..

I placed it outside..with a for sale sign on it.. thinking someone would steal it.. NOPE..

So.. what I did was just posted an ad on CL..

3 people replyed.. My gf called the first one.. she came over and picked it up... and now some one has it.. and it is being used.

As long as they don't have to drive for hours, both of those places will come by and get whatever you have, if it's worth their time. If not, posting an ad on Craigslist will work just as well. =)

I already contacted my local branch, so its all good.
