Why do they give you driver CDs for Monitors and Mice?
I bought a generic USB mouse that is plug and play and it came with a bunch of install drivers. Why is that? I just plugged it in and Windows found it immediately. The same goes for P&P monitors...they give you a shit load of disks and since I've been using computers I've never had to install a driver for it.
Anyone know why they do this? Just something I found odd. |
Spyware, Loading the company soft. to take up your memory and hdd space. Makes your machine not work as well. And The Company name is spammed on your machine as much as possible.

Many times the extra 37 buttons on a mouse aren't found or assignable by Windows, but in the case of a straightforward 2button scroll mouse, everything from win2k has the driver built into it.
Monitor driver disks will often let rarely-used crazy display modes be used, but are pretty damned useless, too. |
Good monitors come with color profiles on CD. Installing these does make sense.
