Anyone got an apple iphone to work in Australia yet?

So i've got this iPhone sitting here and it'd be great to use it, but i'm in Australia and they're not released here until next year... Does anyone know how to get it working here?

It's not supported by any of the local phone companies and no American one would want to take you on because you'd spend too much time out their area and it would cost them money to have you.

There is a hack to activate the phone, but no one has figured out how to unlock the sim card yet, so that you can use a non-ATT sim. It probably wont be too much longer, though.

But you can at least use wi-fi and ipod capabilities and all that, with the activation hack.

Google for "iPhone activate hack" and you should find it.
