~260 average.
never more than 271.

@ 79-80 kb/sec

And as I check before hitting 'reply' the d/l speed continues to drop. Now 74 kb/sec.

35 to south florida. I only download the first 10%.

Comcast high speed... i get 500-550 from newshosting.com

Not USA, butr close: Canada ( Montreal )
a lousy 50-80 kbps....

Am on a high speed cable and most of the time get 300-500 kbps.

i'm in northeast.. comcast cable with speed bump..
usually max out at around 1100k.

Started downloading at 22.5kb then picked up to 55.5kb but now it fluctuates drastically between those 2 speeds.

I'm in Seattle, WA and normally download around 120-130kb

that's 635 Kbytes/sec not Kbits

Seems like it is. I went from max 55.5kb and fluctuating to 147.0kb steady now

now at 370 kbps ....


They probably had their nic on half-duplex.

They had a broken fibre.

I think they should put up some speed test servers around the world tough instead of me figuring out its slow...

Maybe someone knows where to get a cheap server in the USA somewhere with ssh access so I can login sometimes myself to do a few speed and traceroute tests... I looked for cheap Vhost but none of them offer ssh login

I offer ssh on all plans. It is limited to your directory ( jailed ssh ).
