And as I check before hitting 'reply' the d/l speed continues to drop. Now 74 kb/sec.

Comcast high speed... i get 500-550 from newshosting.com

Not USA, butr close: Canada ( Montreal )
a lousy 50-80 kbps....

Am on a high speed cable and most of the time get 300-500 kbps.

Started downloading at 22.5kb then picked up to 55.5kb but now it fluctuates drastically between those 2 speeds.

I'm in Seattle, WA and normally download around 120-130kb

I think they should put up some speed test servers around the world tough instead of me figuring out its slow...

Maybe someone knows where to get a cheap server in the USA somewhere with ssh access so I can login sometimes myself to do a few speed and traceroute tests... I looked for cheap Vhost but none of them offer ssh login

I offer ssh on all plans. It is limited to your directory ( jailed ssh ).
