Opinions on a tour page please
 

I'm working on getting a lot of stuff put together, but I have a tour page in place and I wanted to know what other webmasters thought. The videos aren't working right now and our exclusive content isn't plugged in yet. We're working on a lot of the finishing touches (flash integration into our header) so we'd appreciate suggestions...

yep I agree. bigger pics that are really clear shows your content is quality. otherwise I think it looks pretty good.

Not bad. I'll be honest though, it looks basic...and by that I mean that it looks like it is from the late 90's. While I'm sure it will sell, I think there are lost of improvements you could make. Bigger pics would help, a header that really grabs your attention, and perhaps a more appealing colour scheme. Obviously that is just my two cents.

thanks for the advice. We're going to be adding some flash elements to spice up the header and the tour videos will be streaming flash with the ability to download another format if no flash is detected

Also considering making a rollover element where the pictures become much larger if you move the cursor over them.

Overall we'll be adding some more graphics to show users the extras they will get - trying to make the tour page fairly interactive

How do you guys like this idea: for users with higher screen resolution there would be flash based 'fins' on the side of the main page which would advertise ll the extras to the site: live interactive webcm, movie feeds, games, stories, eBooks, cell phone content, free DVD page, etc.
