Company Growing Too Fast.

Hey Everyone,

First off, my name is Ryan Keenan and I am a 21 year old guy from Scottsdale, Arizona. I use to be in the adult industry until early last year.

I decided early last year to begin a new company, Ink A Doodle : http://www.inkadoodle.com

It is an online social community (with features myspace would have) that allows anyone to submit their graphic designs or artwork to be rated by other members...the highest rated artwork is printed and sold on apparel in the online store.

So why should you care?

In the first week after launching for beta stage testing, 200 members have joined and 35 t-shirt designs have been submit (all of which we now own rights to). This all occurred with virtually no marketing.

As of now, we are seeking an investor who might be interested in getting in on this ground floor. We have the programmers in line and a designer/my best friend who creates the front end.

What is the problem?

We do not have the money necessary to pay winners and to print additional apparel.

The website is already working and just has a few more bugs to fix before we can go into a full launch stage. The site not only allows users to purchase and submit shirts; it also allows them to network (friend requests, messaging, commenting, blogs).

Reasons to check us out:

Those who have already signed up and submit a design usually sign in to their account everyday if not more...meaning return traffic is high.

We currently have plans with a Facebook application developer (keep in mind this developer designed an application which now has 3 million users on it) to launch an Ink A Doodle Facebook application which will connect our system to theirs.

Additionally, we are in the process of forming an extremely targeted mailing list of 5,000 t-shirt artists that are all hand picked by myself.

Our main competitor who runs a design contest website as well has only been in business 5 years and is generating $20 million in sales per year on tshirts alone.

We plan to launch art auctions in the next month which will expand us to all forms of art ; not just t-shirt graphic designs.

Like a Hot or Not site, people will signup for an account for the sole purpose to rate other designs and be part of the social aspect of the community.

Unlike MySpace which only sells advertising, we are letting the users do all the work to create additional avenues of revenue.

We plan to expand to music, video, news, and IPTV in the future with the same model of giving back to a winning user.

I have included some examples below, of designs that have been submit to us in the first week with just 200 members signed up. The response rate has been incredible.

If this sound of interest to any of you, please contact me.

Thanks,
Ryan Keenan

How much $$ are you looking for exactly?

ISUSnet 07-10-2007 02:29 PM

It all depends on what percentage you seek.

zEn84 07-10-2007 02:59 PM

Very cool, so 25% what cost how much?

ISUSnet 07-10-2007 03:14 PM

Any thoughts on the designs?

Right bud.

If you are looking for some venture capitalists, you are going to be able to answer some financials. How much are you looking for, and in return for what percentage, etc.

I know when I look at investments, especially venture, you had better have some answers to the tough questions. Otherwise you are little more than some stranger with a hand out.

:2 cents:

The designs are interesting, but I dont see much in sales of them. Unless you manage to get a chain like Maceys to pick them up.

If I were you, the reward for the best design, I would just make it a % of the sales of the product.

Yes...but to answer that publically on this thread rather than in private does not seem very smart on my part. :2 cents:

And that's the end of the line.

Eh not really..it just means that I will have to seek selling shirts at wholesale prices to certain retailers like Urban Outfitters. To say its the end of the line is to give up...I never have been a quitter.

Cool concept...I'll give you a good luck bump!

Depending on how your organization is structured, you can get up to 50K in cash from your bank in the form of an SBA loan as long as the officer(s) have a credit score over 700.
