*140k* Turkish Troops Mass on Iraq's Border to Attack
 

Hoshyar Zebari, Iraq's foreign minister, has declared that Turkey has gathered 140,000 soldiers on the border of the two nations.

If true, then Turkey would have a force almost equaling the United States troop level in Iraq. Zebari pleaded for negotiation over a cross-border offensive, but Turkish Foreign Minister said Friday that detailed invasion plans were ready.

The reason for the buildup is the rebel Kurdistan Worker's Party, which the Turkish military has been seeking government authorization to attack.
