Dumping the diversions about content theft and any stupid other comments for a moment...
Unfortunately there is obviously an element of people in the US who were born mentally deficient and never will be of any value to anyone. Generally you are talking about a population fed by the lowest standards of media in the world (tho that is not their fault), but persistant dumbing down can have an effect on people. It is even worse when this relatively small group are given a voice to show their level of ignorance and idiocy. (There are plenty examples on GFY).
That said, I've never met any person from the US who was other than sensible and, in reality, are no different to any other region - there are idiots everywhere. It may be the idiots everywhere don't open their mouths so often - but would bet they exist.
A couple of what could be classifed as rare best friends are from the US and they are fully sane, intelligent and well-experienced in their own fields. I *know* they would never let me down and go to extreme lengths if needed and at a cost to themselves - suppose it's part of the moral fiber. In return, they deserve the same level of support/consideration from me.
The US may be a target for quips and deriding because of obvious events, but it would probably be a mistake to generally confuse that with the character of it's citizens. Only my :2 cents:, nations matter little - it's people who are more relevant and a foul ambassador for a country does not necessarily mean the country is shit.
PS :winkwink: Personally, tho serious - I think the the govt needs to pay the bill for all the damage caused to Iraq from the day it elected to invade that country. Even that would not reach any level of justice, but perhaps there would be consideration given to what it means to enter a war.
