The Truth: 1986 Mac Plus faster than `07 AMD Dual Core
 

My husband keeps telling people that his 1984 DOS computer runs word processing softwarte faster that any new Windows machine with Vista. People normally react with disbelief.

Now there is at least proof that a 1986 Mac Plus still kicks the ass of a `07 AMD DualCore.

I can see that,less bloat faster machine.

The funny thing is the results would likely be similar comparing the MAcplus to a current Mac with current MacOS versions.

Bloat isn't a microsoft exclusive.

It's not that the computer is faster... it's not. Put on the SAME software and the new AMD will blow it away.

It's just that Windows and the word processors now require so much more out of machines than they used to.

Yup, apparently a 25Mhz machine is way faster than a 3Ghz machine... because it runs a word processor from 1984 that does bold and underline pretty fast.

My texas instrument calculator from 1981 lets me add stuff up WAY faster than my pc....

My 1.4Ghz AMD t-bird booted faster than my Intel E6600 Core 2 Duo does. That obviously means the 1.4Ghz AMD t-bird is superior. :upsidedow :upsidedow :upsidedow
