email is getting fucking useless..
 

I just went through and deleted a little over 800 fucking emails to my webmaster address this afternoon. Hadn't checked it in a few days.

Just logged in to check it and there is another 400+ emails. I'd say 95% of them are all from the same dick head.

What the fuck do these idiots think they are going to make a sale by spaming the same fucking email addy 50 times for each mailing?

Spam didn't bug me too much before I figured it's all in the game.. But FUCK YOU.. you damn worthless pieces of shit.

In the time it took me to write that post.. another 50+ came in from the same fucking idiot. what a useless fucking cunt

If I only got the numbers you were talking about I would know that I had a problem with one of my servers.

Every month I clean out the garbage, and June had 75k+

Since July 2 I have received over 16k pieces of junk mail.

try using filters and also try spam assassin

I can't use those. The best I can do is try to direct it to a "potential" junk bin, but I still have to at least scan them before final deletion.

is it possible you might miss an extremely important C&D type email buried in the middle of all that spam or something like that and run into legal problems because of it?

According to what I remember from my elective corporate law class (5 or so years ago), email, as with faxes and snail mail, serves as a legal means of notification, so yes - I imagine it is possible you could run into legal problems because of that.

I'd think, though, that if you reacted immediately upon being contacted by the plaintiff's lawyer on the matter and used the spam issue in apology, you'd still be a stand-up guy in just about any court in the U.S.

Anyone that's taken more than a single law course should feel free to step in. :)

No, because I provide support for several companies, and while I love my clients, not all of them know how to construct a subject that guarantees I will spot it as actually being a support issue.

Emails from prospective customers are worse.

Also, many of the emails I receive will include keywords that most spam programs will block them by default.

Get a click-for-confirmation-reply thing maybe. Not so hard to hack it together yourself, either.
