I've said my piece on this in at least 6 other threads on this board alone.
I simply don't have the strength to dredge it all up again. Sorry. |
Just a FYI when people go out of their way to attack someone, its usally a clear indicator that person is pretty close to the truth. over 2000 hours a week of right wing bullshit and mm is the devil.
|
I really can't stand the guy for the most part, but as long as he is getting people talking about issues I really can't "hate" him. I can't "love" him either though.
|
I neither love him nor hate him. He delivers extremely biased documentaries, with some plain bullshit thrown in, but at times he does raise important issues. That, and his documentaries tend to be fairly entertaining and well-made.
|
his films aren't documentaries. but i love him. I almost wish Sicko wasn't made by him because a lot of people who don't like him will just disregard the message of the film just because its made by him.

Those who consistently state that Moore's films are not documentaries are idiots and have obviously never studied film. All documentaries are subjective and all of them take a point of view. This idea of the 'objective' documentary is ludicrous.
You may have issues with his point of view, the way he presents his information or even the veracity of some of it, but that does not mean his films are not documentaries. Those who think that documentaries are supposed to be 'objective' can you please direct me to an "objective" documentary about a topic that involves human beings? |
watch the videos people.

Then this little stupid fucking ?thought bubble? pops up and goes "The Native American race was not wiped out. 4 million natives remain." HAHAHAHAHA? man, this shit is too good. Why even include that thought bubble? What purpose could that purposely serve? ?Native Americans were not wiped out. Only most of them were, so it?s ok.? would have been better? hahahahaha! |
Anyone who speaks out against the atrocities committed by the American government "Hates America"

I've been reading, listening to, and watching Michael Moore since before he started making award-winning movies. He is bright, witty and creative, and he is passionately political.
What the right wing calls the liberal media in this country, is actually pretty middle of the road in my view, since they mostly are about showing both (or even more) sides of an issue journalism, which is what the Fourth Estate (the press) is supposedly about in a democracy. Fox News and similar right wing / religious media outlets which outrageously claim that they are "fair and balanced" are nothing close to what they proclaim to be. Yes, Michael Moore is a shameless liberal. So what? In a democracy, we should have tolerance for his viewpoints, and even for positions further to the left than his. The current Republi-Crat "big money" big-business/military industrial run political system is the anti-thesis of democracy. Practically every other industrialized nation that practices democracy has a parlimentary system that allows minority parties actual politicial representation (even governments/nations which we helped create such as Germany, Japan, Israel, and even Iraq). Yet in the USA, we have this antiquated political system that primarily serves mostly those whom can afford to pay for (or basically buy) elections, and then call it a democracy. The Republicans and Democrats are basically two sides of the same coin. What we have is not a democratic system, but orchestrated political theater designed to alienate, placate and sedate a nation of people that have been made to feel powerless to cause real change. When Ross Perot ran for President he hurt the Republicans. When Ralph Nader ran, he hurt the Democrats. Yet in a parlimentary system, each of their parties (the Reform Party and Green Party respectively), would have instead gained minority seats and then forced concessions from the people they were most closely aligned with in order to form a majority coalition. Their ideas for change would have been heard. Over time their ideas could gain further acceptance, and real change could happen. Instead we are taught the lesson that to vote for a third party challenger is a wasted vote or helps our biggest opponent. We are in serious need of real political reform, if not revolution in this country. The most powerful scene for me in "Sicko" is where Amercians living in France had gathered to meet and speak about the differences they noted in the two systems. They indicated that in France, the government is afraid of the people, which is why they act primarily to please/appease the people, whereas in the US, people fear the government. I applaud the efforts of Michael Moore and others whom are willing to travel a difficult path to effect real change in this country, because the old style is clearly failing us... ADG |
Had to stop watching towards the end of part two of 6 degrees. The redneck voices are far too annoying and most of the stuff that the film tries to "peg as lies" is just plain silly, stuff that isn't relevant or otherwise isn?t important. In that little cartoon of Moore?s ?thought bubbles? pop up like 10 times each with a bit of info that doesn?t serve anything. During one of the cartoon scenes it shows a boat going to Africa, picking up slaves, and bringing them back to America to be sold then a thought bubble pops up saying ?Many slaves were sold to American traders from their own tribe chiefs? And Africans themselves enslaved each other for years. Slave trade was worldwide?.
That lovely history tip is great and all, but how is it proving Moore a liar or being deceitful? Is it being deceitful by not including 45 minutes worth of information in regards to the history of slavery in your two hour long film? |

I hate him. But I hate rush limbaugh as well. They are both full of shit and twist everything to fit their view point, very biased people who think they are right 100% of the time.
I would love to lock the two of them in a small room together. |
I like his in your face style and respect his BALLS in challenging the system.
