And yeah (I'm surprised the Hobbit kid didn't mention this one - seems up his alley), you can enter just about any government-run medical emergency room in the country, and be guaranteed you'll be treated without the need to pay up front, but the honest bloke either doesn't want to or doesn't know he can, technically, skip out on the tab - and therefore, typically, won't.

It'd be a good thing if we had an honest socialized system, I think - where one doesn't have to apply for and/or be denied for government assistance beforehand in order to receive it.

You're right that welfare cases are getting free food and medicine, but you are being racist. I live in the whitest state in the U.S., and there are TONS of people around here on welfare and buying Fritos and Coca Cola with food stamps.

I see them at the Post Office and in grocery lines every day, and I assure you they're all lily white.

Go to costco and get any drugs you need for $10.00 or Walmart for $8.00.

Anyone making under $50,000 per year can get very low cost insurance for all their kids in school.

The total number of Americans who can't get any health insurance is less then 20% and they can use the options above so the problem isn't one the democrats can fix by taxing us to hell !

If they want a nationwide HMO that 100 - 150 million can use no matter their health or age I'd go along with that because it already works in several states but to say millions can't get any care is bullshit.

my neighbor's daughter had a kid and lives with her parents.She makes $9 an hour she cant get peachcare for the kid currently the baby has no insurance.

People have lost everything that had insurance that had a deductible and had a major illness paid tens of thousands to cover their side of the cost til it took everything they had.Most bankruptcy's in this country are because of medical bills.

I for example am privately insured, I get better care than the standard government insured ones... but they still get good care, always...
