How much should two flash banners cost?

I'm having an interesting conversation with a designer on ICQ right now about flash banner prices... how much should two flash banners cost?

SmokeyTheBear 07-06-2007 10:34 AM

well 2 flash banners is kind of a bland question. Flash can be quite intesive. Did you see the awe banner , i would suspect something like that would run over $1000

The easier way to ask the question would be what would be the manpower required to make it.

i.e. if it takes a designer 5 hours to create its not gonna be cheap , but something simple could be whipped out for as little as $50

Ok, maybe I should have asked how long is a piece of string?

Haha

I have seen costs go from as little $25. For $1000 I would buy my own banner making monkey though. Jezus.

I just wanted an average. Would you say that $250 is a high place to start negotiating for flash friggin banners?

I had an in house guy that did all of my design, now I'm hiring a one off outside company for these, which is why I'm asking for the norms.

nope that sounds about right.. :thumbsup

i dont think any competant designer is going to start any lower than that unless they were just doing something very basic or the specialized in basic banners

It really just depends on what you consider average. Average to me doesn't have a lot of effects, just some basic animations and fades and such. For average I usually start around $65. More features and effects... the price goes up from there.

for $500 in some countries ;)

depends on your specs... do you want topspot banners for GFY , program intro or just a cooler looking normal banner for sales?

interaction? How much actionscripting is involved.

asking that is like asking "How much does it cost to be successful?"

Hmm, Smokey it sounds like you are in cahoots with the designer I was speaking with. He's quite well known here so I wouldn't be surprised. :1orglaugh

bro club banner rates are sweet

Shocking 07-06-2007 02:53 PM

i would say that the quality of your banner will be based on the amount of money you pay for it. i have done banners of the same sizes one for 100 and another for 500 the difference in the price affect the end results for sure.

$1000 is the greedy/i think i'm the shit, american price

Goodings Media 07-06-2007 04:07 PM

tell the designer that you would prefer to pay an hourly rate. Its how I charge for most projects.

Voodoo 07-06-2007 04:08 PM

Depends on what you want. But my guess is as much as you're willing to pay for them.

Dancelina 07-06-2007 05:58 PM

starting from 150 $
you can get realy good baner

If obnoxious strobe effects are included, demand it be free.

You'll need the money for future seizure lawsuits.

Interesting thread for sure
