Too many of them are needing to be repaired.

So far i had no problems with mine and i leave it running 24/7

Cheaper than a class action lawsuit.. ;)

They extended the warranty for all 360's worldwide to 3 years, including ones with already expired warranties. I'd say that's a pretty good move on their part.

I wonder too about some of the stories. Neither of mine have gone down.

actual repair costs will be a small fraction of that I bet

it's not a bad move if it means the people who bought a 360 have 3 years so if it fucks up they can get it fixed for free. This, in turn, makes MS look good. It makes them look like they actually care about their customers. In the end it will mean more sales for MS. Sometimes in order to make a profit you must 1st take a big loss.

Thats great news my brothers broke down 1 month after the warrenty expired. pain in the ass sending it away to get repaired but this is good news they really needed to do this. Gotta love Microsoft for coming to the party to fix it.

The Xbox360 is the best console out there for HD games. PS3 is a poor cousin with no vibration in the controller & no games.

The class action lawsuit that could/would have came about if the reported 33% of xbox units being defective was accurate... then I think they saved a lot of money in the end by doing this.

Just called, they only repair them if they have 3 flashing red lights on the console when you try to boot it up. any other issues is the normal 1 year.
