Quaker Steak (pics)

When we went to the fireworks warehouse yesterday, we stopped at an interesting restaurant, Quaker Steak and Lube. Not only was the food pretty good, but they had lots of interesting items to check out.

Here are but a few.

What I was thinking myself. We opted to not have anything heavy sitting over our heads.

Looks like a interesting place

Joesho 07-04-2007 11:26 AM

DUDE! be sure to try a place called Steak and Shake they kick ass, and are WAY better than crappy ole in and out burgers .

pornguy 07-04-2007 11:28 AM

Pretty cool, and I think in Cali I would be worried about that as well.

Glad you had the camera along huh?

NOT! Steak and Shake's name leads you to believe that there will be ATLEAST 1 t-bone in the menu, and a nice fancy shake to go with it. Not a slightly better then Wendy's hamburger, and frozen shoestring french fries.

THUMBS DOWN for Steak and Shake. Quaker Steak is much better between the two. Plus Quaker Steak has a bar!

Been there. Wasn't that impressed . . . but to be honest, In-N-Out never impressed me either.

I equate In-N-Out to the mystique that Coors beer had in the 60's and 70's. People wanted it just because they could not get it where they lived.

I am in Indiana . . . earthquakes are not that big of a deal around here. I try to have my camera with me at all times when on the road.

Can't argue with any of that . . . although I am not sure I have been to Wendy's enough to give an evaluation.

As I was driving, I had to limit myself to one beer. It was good. The fried pickles were pretty tasty though. Must be a Southern thing as I never would have thought to deep fry one.

I was tempted to try them, but as the people I was with don't do spicy, I figured it would be a waste to get them all just for me.

Looks neat... too bad they don't seem to have any locations in Cali. :-(

Yeah, I think they cater to the NASCAR crowd, so primarily Southern States as I recall from their "fun facts."

They have good burgers but I totally agree.

See if they have a Culver's around, great burgers, loaded with butter.

Sly 07-04-2007 12:39 PM

You keep saying Southern. Do people really consider Indiana Southern? I always considered it the mid-west still. Granted, you are close to Kentucky.

Quaker Steak and Lube originated about 15 minutes from where I grew up in Sharon PA. They are doing franchises now. If I had that kind of investment money and time I would open one up here in TN. They do have damn good wings. I grew up on them. If you are in one sign the waiver and try the atomic wings.... if you DARE!! :winkwink:

The Duck 07-04-2007 12:47 PM

Thats the most retarded restaurant I have ever seen, who the fuck wants to be under those huge vehicles.

who 07-04-2007 12:56 PM

I like their lube.

No, but the Quaker Steak and Bake up here is new. I glanced at their locations on the menu and remember FL, TN, and the Carolinas. I remember thinking that most of the locales appeared to be in the south.

And while I agree that IN isn't really a southern state, they do have a lot of southern tendencies.

I saw their thermometer, and one of the kids asked me if it sounded good to me. It did, but like I said, I did not want to have to eat them all myself, and I knew none of them would eat any.

You have to be one of the biggest tools on GFY. Your opinion means squat. :2 cents:

I would imagine that a roof falling on you would also tend to be deadly, but you go in buildings with roofs right? lol Those cars have been hanging in Sharon PA since the 70's and no one has been crushed yet.

Ya I actually prefer my wings I used to make at home for "eating" but theirs are some of the best Ive tasted at a restaurant and definitely the hottest Ive ever had.
