Flash Conversions

I currently have used Canopus software to convert my vob's to wmv and have been very happy with the output but have recently decided to convert all content to flash as well. What is the best and most comparable software to convert vob's to flash. Is vob to flash even possible or will i have to go from avi to flash.

Thanks for all help

I found going from WMV to Flash works best for me.

VOB to FLV is possible of course.

Push the un-encrypted VOBs using Avisynth with proper cropping/resizing, send the pseudo-AVI (no compression) to your toolf of choice to encode the FLV.

that's it, directly from VOB to FLV without recompression or wasted HD space.

I guess Canopus Procoder 3 can export to flash

wmv to flash is the easiest and best in my opinion!

This won't answer how to go from VOB to FLV, but you can compare encoding solutions.

BE CAREFUL ABOUT GOING FROM WMV TO FLASH!!!!!!!

Actually - ANY media format that you COMPRESS and then convert to FLV is going to have a greatly reduced quality. FLV convertion further compresses the file.. and the lossy amount is increased.

For BEST results, I have found that converting NON-LOSSY MOV files to FLV works best. The newer codec works rather well.

ADOBE also has FLASH VIDEO server solutions that can convert files server side. This software also allows you to set streaming rates and not allow downloads of the files.

VOB is essentially Mpeg2. As long as the codec is compatible, any software that converts mpeg2 to flv should be able to convert VOB to flv.
