English: MembersArea or MemberArea?

... for a paysite that is. I have always used members area, but I have seen member area being used too.

Thanks for your help

Members Area... :2 cents:

DamianJ 07-04-2007 06:51 AM

Actually, technically it is:

Members' Area.

Assuming you have more than one member, and the area belongs to them.

Members Area, but I had a "C" in English Grammar in American highschool...

Hmm... Always thought the correct version is "Member Area", or at least "Members' Area" (note the apostrophe there), but I also had 3 (an equivalent of US "C") in English grammar when I was learning it in Russian school :)

Please do.

xxxfeetxxx 07-04-2007 08:51 AM

The area put aside for all your members is definitely the members' area. However, if you only have one member it would be the member's area.

Although grammatically correct, I don't see many sites using the apostrophe as it does look a bit untidy... :)
