Bell Canada can suck my left nut!

A few months ago we finally ditched our Bell residential phone service in favour of cable phone service (cogeco).

Now Bell is calling us incessantly trying to coax us back to their service (called twice already today).

Of course, when I call Bell to try and have us removed from their call list, they claim we're not in the database and they didn't call us.

"Must have been an outsourced company that called on our behalf," a Bell bitch representative tried telling me.

"Bullshit," I told her. "Don't insult my intelligence. Either you called us or you sold our name and number to a third-party agency who is now harassing us with unsolicited sales calls at your request."

I'm starting to log the calls and will turn things over to our attorney if they continue for much longer.

Such bullshit. Typical of Bell.

Is it any wonder customers are leaving their service in droves these days...

An english friend here always press " french service " ... he says it is better to get a french canadian ( bilingual anyway ) then end up with an outsourced paki ....

Bell Canada sells lists of their former customers and their personal contact info to the Canadian Marketing Association - and from what I've learned the CMA outsources this information to call centres that will annoy the fuck out of you.

To be removed from the CMA list and be placed on a 'Do not call' list, follow this removal link.

It apparently takes 6 weeks(!) to be added...and you have to re-apply every three years to be renewed.

Un-fucking-believable!

Spiegelau 07-03-2007 08:33 PM

Can Fris suck your left nut? Fris loves the taste of unwashed nuts!

jact 07-03-2007 08:43 PM

Bell Sympatico lost my DSL (They billed me for 6 months without bothering to check if I was within the service area -- Turns out I wasn't. They finally refunded me, but what a pain).

Bell Mobility is about to lose my cell phones.

Bell ExpressVu is about to lose my television service, the fact that an existing customer cannot rent HD receivers but new customers can is bullshit.

Bell Canada is about to lose my home phone service, since my phone rings maybe twice a week and it's solicitations. Most people use my VOIP now anyhow, why keep the land line?

Fuck Ma Bell.

Phoenix 07-03-2007 08:44 PM

bell also outsources like a mofo

BoyAlley 07-03-2007 08:44 PM

XTube_Kurtis can suck my right....

I've thought of losing the land line as well...but there's still a few things that require us having one (i.e. mortgage renewal - the bank still views land lines as 'stability and history' of residence).

I'm leaving Canada as soon as the paperwork's done, not really a big concern here.

I switched to Rogers for the landline, now they called us as well. They told us it was NOT solicitation, because management was calling, trying to entice us back. Fat fucking chance of that happening. They lost my long distance a while back,we just switched the local service.

Sadly, very typical of dealing with any of Bell's companies.

RawAlex 07-03-2007 09:54 PM

yeah, the redeeming part of that story is that I did in fact get almost 8 months of free service out of them, and they have made it somewhat easier for existing customers to upgrade. But it still isn't very fair how it is done.

BCE (The holding company for all this Bell stuff) is getting sold off pretty soon, and it looks like it might be one of those vulture private funds. My hope is that they start selling off the parts, separating out the TV, Radio, dish, and other businesses to individual companies that might actually give a flying fuck about service and quality.

I've been a Bell customer for 17 years, you think that gets me treated better then a new customer? Hell no. The only time I actually get action from any level of management is when I threaten to remove my $500/mo in services from all Bell properties.

dready 07-03-2007 10:12 PM

Their only concern is how to fuck you over as much as they can. The sooner everyone ditches them the better.

globofun 07-03-2007 10:30 PM

We had the same problem after dumping their shitty service........after their 3rd call, I made it clear that I would sue their fucking ass if I was getting another phonecall!

minniesoporno 07-03-2007 10:45 PM

YES ! I am having the same issues bell canada keeps sending me these pathetic cards in the mail like its a birthday card or some shit telling me how they can't call me directly but they were happy to gain my business then a few days after the card is sent they will give me a phone call. so I told them I left bell because the fuckers will not give me back my phone deposit I got when I first got phone services as a new company. even though I have worked for bell canada in the past I have a greater hate for them being a former employee and former customer of them.

Basically to get off their list of thier sales department they have all over Toronot with different outsourcing companies and etc. you pretty much need to yell really lound with them on the phone when you answer that annoying come back to bell call.

I switch from bell to rogers cable, so now I have everything on one bill and they will never be calling me again after that one phone call and 2 bull shit half ass thank you cards.

Ravage 07-04-2007 06:36 AM

Rogers is no different. Switch to Satellite or something, then watch Rogers come to your door and call you non-stop. Better yet, if you're in a Condo that offers Rogers and Sat. or LOOK TV, watch as Rogers techs disco's your line and you need to call your other provider to come back out and screw it back in.

Brad Gosse 07-04-2007 06:39 AM

We switched to Atria fibre after too many Bell outages.

Joe BrainCash 07-04-2007 06:43 AM

Bell lost my business years ago. I'll never go back. Once they lost my trust, it's over.

Tom_PM 07-04-2007 06:43 AM

Cant you just tell them you work for them or some other crap so they stop bugging you? I'd go ballistic with 2 calls per day..

When you say you work for them it's just another headache I use to actually work for them and everyday I would go into work changing my account back to what it was suppose to be because bell had a habit of changing my long distance plan because they felt the plan I wanted was not what they wanted for myself.

Basic_man 07-04-2007 07:18 AM

I left Bell to go with Videotron cable, and they never ever called me back. I even called to get my money back from the month I had paid upfront, and they sent me a 2$ check :P

vidvicious 07-04-2007 07:24 AM

Bell Sucks ass .. but then again rogers or Videotron ain't any better

JayDeeZee 07-04-2007 07:29 AM

Try and get through to them for technical help....takes days

But switch to rogers and you get 2 calls per day.

Go figure!

FUCK BELL!!!!!!!!!

evildick 07-04-2007 08:14 AM

Switch to free to air satellite and don't look back.
