I still remember the day I found out like it was yesterday.I went to the jam room and lit up a candle and jammed on Texas Flood for bout two hours, looking at his torn out posters from guitar magazines ,and got drunk as hell. When the world lost him it lost one of the best fucking guitarists of all time :(

Fortunately he left us A diagram to his playing that many have followed since:thumbsup

How long you been playing?

Its been 20+ years for me man and I still cant play some of his shit:thumbsup

Another case of a great one taken from us too soon, why oh why couldnt have been a guitarist from some 1 hit wonder band instead of SRV.

RIP SRV, we really do miss you down here

Anyone else see him live? I seen him live in Davenport Iowa when I was like 9 years old (approx)

Saw him in Chicago about two weeks before he died. Awesome show, tragic loss. "Couldn't Stand The Weather", one of my all time favorites.

Amazing player with a great feeling. I remember his version of "Little Wing" was the first thing I heard from him an it was a start of a serious addiction for a while.

Is that true that the helicopter (or plane I don't remember exactly) he boarded that tragic night should have been prepaired for Eric Clapton?

Yes Clapton boarded the other chopper that was booked. Clapton's manager
died in the same crash together with the manager of Robert Gray
