I lent someone here 40 bucks by epass last year sometime, they came and asked me for 40 bucks... I gave it to them.

never a word spoken to me since except for excuses of "waiting on 3k from fleshlight" or some other story..

Then they confront me after I said something about it here on the board..

that person then lashed out at me on icq like they were a big shot around here saying things like he would "burn me" and what not...

I hate having to approach people about paying you back money they've borrowed from you after you've given it some time.

In those cases, I've found it's often accompanied with them making you feel like shit about insinuating that they weren't going to pay you back - immediately followed by another long stint of time that passes without them doing so.

I lend 85$ and no sign of return of that money.So i decide i will never lend,give,loan,whatever money to anyone no matter offline or online.I think i lost over 2000$ with it.

I lent a small amount of cash to someone once ... he needed beer money and didn't have any funds in til the next day ... he was and is one of the best guys I know in the industry and of course I didn't think twice about it ... I knew I'd get it back ... and even if I didn't I'd not have been pissed, because he's helped me out in other ways over the time I've known him.

I'd never lend to someone I wasn't 100% sure of tho.

Lending is a tough sport, if you're not good at it, don't venture into it. Over they years, i learned people tarnish their rep over silly amounts, and it's not even because they're broke, but because they're lazy. When i'm lending person money, i always lend them small amount, and see will they pay back in time. If they don't, next time, i don't lend them, easy, and if i end up losing that amount, i don't care because it's a small amount anyway.

Be happy you got burned for 55. If that's what his honor is worth to him, good ridance.
