So, I went to the Kwik E Mart yesterday...
 

I'm a Simpsons geek, so I had to visit the Kwik E Mart here in Henderson...
It was interesting. Seems a lot of people had the same idea that I had...I bought 3 boxes of Krusty O's, one to eat, one to ship to my friend and one for Ebay in about a year. I also managed to pick up 3 six packs of Buzz Cola for the same reasons.

The crowning moment was getting my picture taken with Apu behind the counter (picture forthcoming). It was interesting to see the crowd of people there and yet even as big as the crowd was, there were no problems with anyone fighting or causing problems. Everyone was smiling, taking pictures and probably more important for 7-11, buying a lot of stuff...including a rack of disposable cameras that were about one and a half times normal price.

So, did anyone else visit one of the 11 Kwik E Mart's yesterday?

It was like a marketing orgasm in there...I really like what 7-11 and the Simpsons Production company did with this campaign...they not only thought outside the box, they drew their own box and thought outside of that...

for sure some awesome marketing :thumbsup

For parking, your best bet is the parking lot of the shopping center...the store parking lot is nuts, even moreso if you actually want to get gas...well, it was yesterday at around 5:30pm, might be different this afternoon

I have no idea why this wasn't done years ago....seemed kinda obvious for any company involved in convenience stores.

yeah, but it could possibly have had to do with licensing rights...will be interesting to see if 7-11 (or another convenience store chain) seeks to do this as more of a long term promotion...especially in a touristy city

No shit, in Henderson? I was just there, well going through there to get to Vegas. Is it hard to get to from the freeway, or is it a managable detour? (Mind you, my girlfriend thinks the Simpsons and all shows like it are beyond stupid)

It's not too far from the 95 or the 215...if you're on the 215, exit on Stephanie and go North to Horizon Ridge. From the 95, take the Horizon Ridge exit and head towards Stephanie

Of course, I would naturally assume a lengthy licensing negotiation in a situation like this. The Simpsons has been around since 89, I just thought someone would have jumped on this 10 years ago lol.

as usual there is NONE here in Michigan BUT the 7-11 at the corner DOES have all the promo tie-in swag, after looking at all of it going for damn near $40.00 each on Ebay I just got back from picking up a few 6packs of Buzz Cola and a few boxes of Krusty O's

took a while the wife conveintly saw the mall was right near by...

I drove by the one on Venice right by the 405 but didn't go in because there was a cordoned off line and security and it looked like you had to wait. It looked awesome though. I'm gonna hit that thing up for sure once you can actually park there.

OK so went there parking was shitty and madhouse inside but it was cool... I went in and forgot the camera and the wife stayed with the kids in the car so in a very un Danza like move I sent the feline in with the camera to take pics.. so excuse me if there shitty

haha, surprisingly, I haven't read about anything missing from any of the Kwik E Marts...but I'm sure that's coming soon...

They're starting to turn the one next to my house into one too. So far, it's just a Squishy machine and a Buzz cola dispenser. I'm wondering if that's as far as this one will go or if we can get a full on Kwik-e-Mart.
