Ever have a bird fly in your house?
 

A sparrow flew in yesterday and was going crazy. Eventually it smacked into the window trying to get out.

It was stunned on the ground. (I hoped it was stunned and not dead)

So I threw a towel over it it and gently took it outside.

Of course, being touched by me snapped it awake pretty quick and it started CHIRPING loudly before flying away.

whew!! my adrenaline was pumping pretty good!

Ever happen to you? I rarely use a screen door and now I'm a little freaked. What if it was a seagull!?

When I was a kid, my buddy and I shot a little bird with a BB gun. As soon as we hit it, we both felt like pieces of shit, so we picked up the bird and put it in a shoe box and took in into his grandmas house. We thought it was dead.......but it wasn't. The bird woke up and freaked the fuck out. Imagine a 70 year old woman and 2 screaming 12 year olds running around a house with a broom trying to get this bird out. Pretty funny when I look back on it.

If it was a segul you would of had to clean up a lot of bird shit! glad the sparrows ok

I had a sparrow fly in to the office a few months ago, and I got him out safe and he happily flew away! :)

I grew up on a small farm. We had birds nesting in the rafters from time to time, but the ceiling was so high that we never could get them out safely. Thankfully somehow we never found droppings anywhere, so we figured they only came in when it was too cold for their eggs or something.

We had three of our horses wander in our house once when someone left the door open. My mom came into her room from the kitchen and found me asleep at about age 5 with three horses standing around the bed, lol. As a mom now, I'd have a heart attack, lol.

a swallow slammed right into the window beside me this morning, he hit it pretty damn hard too, but he got a hold of himself and flew away before he even hit the ground. it was a hell of a smack, kind of scared me. it's been a while since i've had a bird indoors though, lots of neighbourhood cats seem to welcome themselves to my place though. i just give them a pet and wait for the to leave though. if they want to chill out, i'm cool with it...

Earlier this year my brother and I were fixing up an old building in Indiana and we had bats get in a few times. Twice I woke up with them flying around the room. Scary shit because they carry rabies and a kid in the area died recently from being bit.

Good thing you let it out... it's just a bird. it won't hurt you anyway... hehe
birds came in and out in our ancestral house but those are just little birds fleeing in the trees then nesting at the roof when the rain comes. :)

We had 2 little swallows fly into our house and they freaked my wife out but I caught them like you in a towel and let them go again ...

then I was chased by a cock (the bird) once and was saved by my grandma

later on I got bitten by a monkey in a zoo because I wanted to touch the monkey's nose trough the cage

Luckily, I'm not. In fact, I often joke that I'm about 60 years in the hole when it comes to bad luck. I break a mirror camping every summer.

I've had bats come in. It always adds some excitement to an evening. No birds though.

oh yeah - a couple of years ago I heard a lot of noise downstairs in my place - thought maybe I was being robbed so my heart was already starting to beat fast, so i grabbed my trusty aluminum baseball bat and quietly tiptoed down the stairs - as I descended down into the basement I almost had a heart attack when some big black thing came directly at me - i didn't even swing at it cuz i was so freaked out - now my heart was pounding out of my chest, I realized it was a bird, a big fucking bird, it was trapped down in the lower part of the house and just kept flying wildly into the walls, in and out of the laundry room crashing into the window blinds - the thing was huge, a big black crow probably, i didn't want it to fly up the stairs - the door to the outside was across the room, I wanted to open it so hopefully he'd figure his way out but every time i'd move toward the door he'd come flying towards me like a bat out of hell and i'd dive for cover and scramble up the stairs - finally he disappeared into the laundry room and i was able to slam the door on him so he was crashing back and forth in there trapped - i went and opened the door to the outside, pushed the door to the laundry open as I dashed to get up the stairs before he came flying out again - it worked - a few minutes later the place was silent - he had flown the coop.

it was scary for the 10 minutes it lasted.
