Are "The Simpsons" really ending after the movie?
 

I heard that there will be no new episodes after the movie and there are a few lame posts about it in the forum at imdb but nothing conclusive. I havent watched in years but its a staple of life. I hope it doesnt end.

I kind of hope it does...It seems its been struggling to compete with the likes of Family Guy and Futurama and such - It's best they go out in style than ruining everything they've accomplished by trying to compete with the more cutting edge stuff.

Only fat kids like family guy.

Who knows if they really will end it, but...

In multiple interviews of a time past w/ the Simpson creators and writers, they repeatedly stated that they would write a movie when they felt the series was complete. E.g. the final farewell.

Who knows what the future brings. I think it's more of a indication that I'm getting freaking old :(

Futurama was cancelled in 2005 I think. I probably wouldn't even watch the Simpsons anymore if Family Guy wasn't on right after it. Although it is still one of the better shows on TV.

simspons still kicks ass IMO by far my favorite show

I could never quite stand those cartoons, South Park on the oter hand...

South Park sucks donkey balls, nothing beats the Simpons imo.

I have FORCED myself to watch through last couple of episodes, just to be totally disappointed.

And on top of that, comedy central is now making a new season of Futurama, that should kick ass.

Oh, come on, did you see the episode about global warming? or the one about The passions of the Christ? or World of Warcraft?

But I concede the point to you: I've seen the "Simpsons" movie trailer and it's quite funny.

The movie trailer looks good. I haven't watched the show for a long time so I don't know what it's like. I've always been a fan though.
