He isn't human. He needs to be evaluated and meds need to be administered. That motherfucker has lost his mind!

Britney's a fucking joke.

Hooterdog 08-31-2002 06:14 PM

I wonder which millennium he thought he was the artist of . . .
last one had some pretty big contenders, and this one is kinda too early to call. . .

cherrylula 08-31-2002 06:18 PM

I hope nobody tells him.

Let him live his life and die in peace, he's entertained enough of you fools to last more than a millenium.

kmanrox 08-31-2002 06:23 PM

wonder why frank sinatra wasn't artist of the millenium?

Yes, he made me laugh on many an occasion.

For Artist of the Millenium, the title belongs to Elvis. Period.

eru 08-31-2002 07:04 PM

Now MJ may accuse MTV of being "devellish"

Elvis? You gotta be shitting me.

He might have been a great performer but he wasn't a songwriter.

John Lennon is the artist of the millenium and The Beatles are the group of the Millenium.

Their profound influence on modern music remains unchallenged.

Hooterdog 08-31-2002 08:49 PM

I was thinking Michaelangelo

burn 08-31-2002 09:10 PM

He is a space alien

yep. The Beatles for sure.

My dad used to tell me that you couldn't like The Beattles and Elvis... only one or the other, and Elvis just wasn't edgy enough for me. ;)

BTW, I agree that Michael Jackson is in need of a good psych exam... any non-celeb that mutilates themsleves to such a degree are locked to protect themselves

I'd say the artist of the last millenium would have to be Beethoven. However Kurt Cobain and Snoop Dogg are pretty close.

SR 09-01-2002 05:04 AM

I think he's getting to look more and more like Kurt Kobain!

MICHAEL JACKSON BLOWUP: MTV TAKES AWAY AWARD IT NEVER GAVE?

Is he, or isn't he...

MTV reported on its website late Thursday it had not presented Michael Jackson with "artist of the millennium" honors at the 2002 Video Music Awards -- even though the pop star believed he had accepted such an award on live TV!

"When I was a little boy in Indiana, if someone had told me that one day I'd be getting the Artist of the Millennium award, I wouldn't have believed it," Jackson told the audience after receiving a standing ovation.

"I can't believe it."

Don't believe it.

Huh? I know plenty of people including myself that love both.

Sixpack--
No, I'm not "shitting" anyone. It was a tossup between Elvis and the beatles. I went with Elvis due to the sheer overall impact of his presence and his influence on so many lives. The Beatles likewise bring a lot to the table, and in my mind place a very close second.

And where does it say that the artist of the millenium has to be a great songwriter? If that were the main criteria then there are a ton of big legends that would qualify... Paul Anka, Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, Barry Manilow, Frank Zappa, Paul Simon, Burt Bacharach, Jackson Browne, Brian Wilson, Jagger/Richards, etc etc etc
A great performer can't be artist of the millenium??
