is this also one of those "only in America" things ????????
not sure if its done to prevent them from licking their wounds or for easier communication with aliens but I can honestly say that I have never seen a dog with a cone on its head in my life......

They even have those things in Costa Rica.

I've never seen a dog wearing one in real life.
Those are everywhere
my dog had to have one when he had sugery so he wouldn't rip the stitches out
Seen them on both cats and dogs
It's part of the budget plan for Direct TV.

It's very common for dogs, and in some cases cats, up here in Canada. Our dog had to wear one for a few days after we had her spade. And yes, it's just to stop them from licking the wound/tearing out stitches.
Common in the UK too...
seen them a lot in norway. This is common for dogs with wounds!
it's the same anywhere
Quite usual.
