September 11th Bandwidth Logs
 

I'd be interested in knowing what the percentage drops/increases in bandwidth some of you saw last September 11th and whether you expect anything similar to happen this year....

Understandably, sales died for a few days. People had better things to worry about than porn.

I'll see if I can find one of our MRTG charts during that time. You could almost tell the exact minute it happened by our logs. B/W dropped from 45+Mbits to 12Mbits.. and stayed off for a day or two.

For community based sites, the night of the 11th was extremely busy.

For me, traffic dropped significantly on the 11th and then reamined a little lower for the next few days. By the following Monday (the 17th), we were actually higher than usual.

My guess is people got tired of being sad, and tried to return to normalcy... or maybe they were "escaping" reality...
