youtube clone, ffmpeg php flash 1000 concurrent users...
 

Hardware wise, what would it take to set something like this up? A youtube type site, users would have to be able to upload video, ffmepeg would have to handle the conversion etc and using PHP to serve the resulting flash video? The site would have to be able to support over 10 thousand users on the first day, and also be able to handle 1 thousand concurrent users maintaining a video speed of 256k to 512k at all times. PLUS would need to be able to at least double in user size in 6 months...

Is there any good software out there already to do this, and what are your thoughts on the backend equipment to make it actually work and be rock steady? Userbase would be both member/paid and free...
