Ray Allen to the Boston Celtics

Can you please explain this trade to me...why would you trade an All-Star like Ray Allen for a 1st Round pick that plays the same position as your other All-Star Rashard Lewis? Who the hell are they gonna play at the 2 guard? Wally? He plays the 3 spot? Whot the fuck is running shit up there in Seattle...fuckin' stupid move. I'm saddened by this move really...I was a half-assed Seattle fan but now I have no reason to watch them unless they're playing the Knicks.:disgust

Ray Allen is 33 and injury prone...

Is that any reason to trade for 2 small forwards to make a total of about 5 on the team and the 2 they got in the trade aren't better than Rashard Lewis. They better have another trade in the works or they're going to be seriously hurtin' at the 2 spot.

Ray Allen has at least 3 more good years too...I don't think he's injury prone, he's had his share but I wouldn't label him as injury prone.

I think sonics did that for the future.. not a bad decision for the sonics

Yeah, I realize that but the trade itself is retarded unless they get rid of Wally or Jeff Green and get a 2 guard out of them. I'm not sure what Rashard Lewis' situation but I think they should keep him and shop the other 2 fucks.

I can guarantee there is more to this deal coming...

Look for Jeff Green and Luke Ridnour to be packaged somewhere for a point guard :2 cents:

I like Ridnour, I wish they would get rid of Wally and Jeff Green some how and get a young 2 guard to replace Allen. I think Ridnour could flourish if he has all kinds of scoring options to pass to. The last few years all he had was Allen and Lewis.

If you think you're baffled...try looking at it from the Celtics' point of view...now we have two players who basically do what Paul Pierce does for them (except that Allen can't play defense)...without any big men or experienced point guards. And with Allen and Pierce fighting for shots, Jefferson will never develop properly. We've guaranteed that we won't be getting a lottery pick - and won't make it past the first or second round of the playoffs....back in the no-man's land we've been in for years <sigh>

They got 4 players in one day. Two of which are the 2nd and 5th picks in the 1st round of the draft.

What they lost was a guard who's aging, has no defense, and hasn't been able to lead the team to success since they went to the conference semis in 03...one of those years anyway. I like Ray-Ray, but they need to look to the future.

They have a lot of cards on the table, and it will be a busy offseason for the new GM.

PS: Rashard Lewis is a soft, underachieving slacker, who could be magical everynight if only he tried hard enough.

My sentiments exactly. Draft day 2007 was a great day for the Sonics. Durant is gonna be beyond sick. And as great as Ray Allen is, his age and injury history make him a good guy to ship out of town while he still has some trade value left.

If I'm a Seattle fan, I might know I need to be patient, but I'm stoked.
