What's your take on these [Contest Threads]????
 

What do you guys think of them? Do they degrade the board? Waste space?

Do they have any value?

I remember back when gfy was younger the contest threads were few and far between. But boy they did rock. None of this 1000 post threads with bs prizes. It was always like 50th post wins something cool... Whether it was traffic or cash.

I think it would be hella cool if a sponsor did these type of contest threads again... Bring back life to a boring contest whore threads... Maybe they would even gain some reconition for doing it.

How lazy does a sponsor have to be, to make a 1000 thread that they do nothing for?

Also are they paying gfy for these threads? Curious....

I posted in once once and then thought there are better ways to spend my time lol. They same to only attract the same people most of the time or post bots.

Thats the problem... there are too many idiots, bots, and bottom feeders in them.

The contest threads got old real fast. We need better ideas and newer ones.

occupational hazard, allthough i do capitalize where i can, which in my case are the pay per post comps. because of the snipers and their 200 usernames needing to feed the wife and 12 kids. Contest whores to webmasters =/= kerb crawlers to geisha girls. But hey, contentment has never been a feeling engaged by environment, just ones surrender to mediochrity. there is a drama unfolding as we speak, 30 surfers having icq wars over the next prize and how it will be equally shared between them.
