26 mile AIDS Marathon in Chicago, Arvan from Cogent is doing it :)
 

Hi Everyone,

One of my good friends Arvan over at Cogent whom many of you have probably met at the conferences in Vegas, Florida, Phoenix is running a 26 mile marathon with proceeds going to the AIDS Foundation of Chicago.

I think it's a great cause, Arvan is a great guy and WAY too old to be running this far... but he's a sport and I know he's going to complete it! He has been training for some time now and running 10-15 miles quite regularly.

It is a great cause because our current government is off on some tangent where they interpret their job description as ignoring those who need help and are unable to provide it for themselves. (but don't get me started) :-)

Donations go directly to people diagnosed with HIV & AIDS to help them receive care that big pharm lobbies and the Fed are not interested in providing. These are real people and I believe (call me crazy) that it makes a difference in how we treat each other in this life.

I just found out that I can wear advertising as I run the race.

To recap:
- I am running the Chicago LaSalle Marathon, raising money for the AIDS Marathon organization. They provide medication, treatment and funding for research into AIDS prevention.
- If you sponsor me for $100 or more, I will agree to wear your company logo on my person. Your logo will be seen for 26 miles and by 10,000+ people!

I will be wearing shorts and a t-shirt, shoes. Eligible items for display include:
- stickers
- temporary tattoos
- cloth patches
- bumper sticker size or smaller for $100 donation
- larger size for $250 (needs to adhere to me somehow...I can't commit to carrying anything in my hands for the 26 mile course) Email me first, to make sure that I have room, first.
