LOL now this is now my joke of the week :1orglaugh

Since most link sites are specifically against automated submits, I am a little shocked to find 300 link sites on there. Even Hoes recently added a "human test" field to stop the bots.

The sites that don't allow automation will be marked for manual submission. Basically, the form is pre-filled for you, you enter the CAPTCHA (if their software can't read it) and you click the submit button. This isn't considered automated submitting even in the TGP world as far as I know.

I run a link site... any automated form filling isn't appreciated. I have to hand review the sites, the least a submitter can do is hand submit their sites. It's fun as heck to rename submit fields every so often and watch who fails the test.

why would you do want to do that? just to piss submitters off? As long as the info in the fields is correct, why care whether or not it's auto-filled?

I know you run a link list, I use to submit a few years ago (few being about 6)! I know you review by hand which is basically, click a link, open up the site, check recips (if you don't have an automated recip checker), check the galleries, quality of pics, etc, hit the approve or deny button.

How is this any different from an end user actually building the site then using what is basically a form filler to get all fields filled in and hitting the enter button?

The way people work evolves from one year to the next and webmasters keep hearing the phrase, "work smarter not harder" - is it any surprise that they use tools that help them more effectively manage their time?

I remember when you had to send your site to LL owners via email and they manually placed them on their sites. They automated to make their lves easier so why exactly is it that they wouldn't want the people supplying them with content to have an easier time of submitting? It's not like these people are not spending time actually building the free sites to begin with!

I think well designed and maintained submission software will bring you better submissions than average hand submitter (most of hand submitters don't read the rules each time and they can miss something or make mistake). Regularly update software like chameleon won't let you to submit invalid category, content type/size, it will place correct recip.

I't not really only about filling-in fields. It is just 5% of the work you need to do. There is no reason to force webmaster to hold all (good) link lists including their rules in head, pick appropriate LLs for created site, manually create pages with recips, upload them and type each form's field item by item.
This way there is many places where he can make a mistake and it is unnecessary drudgery. Is your site's traffic worth to spend half day to submit to your site?

I bet 99% of webmasters (excluding some newbies and masochists) are using some automation in submission process.

"automated form filling isn't appreciated"

TGP's and LL's have no idea its kinda automated, changing a field name only makes it blank, like the secret word. If you want to beat them, make your submit page referrer based and put a random url generator in.

You will quickly start to see most of your submits are through software though and will remove it.
