MikeVega 06-27-2007 11:59 AM

Please dude. you can't say they didn't have mad talent.

Gentle_Ben 06-27-2007 12:04 PM

Would be amazing to see, but yeah, I have a dvd of Plant and Page from LATER on and they didn't sound the same then.

Love the Zepp though :winkwink:

Loryn 06-27-2007 12:11 PM

I saw Page and Plant in concert in Vegas about 6 or 7 years ago, can't remember, but I was front row about 20 feet from Page. That dude is fucking scary. He has an aura about him that is just creepy. I loved it. He looked like a freakin? demon with that black wispy wet hair, boney shoulders and pale white skin. But that guy can fucking jam. It was rockin?.

they have talent but this guy showed original songs and then led zepplin songs that used the same notes and even lyrics. then showed how led zeppelin knew the original band that played it either by touring with them in the beginning or attending shows ... then showed how the original LB had them listed as the song writers but the best of LB lists the original song writer in the credits. It's a Fact that they stole 99% of there Ideas from smaller artist. They improved the songs for sure but they still stole them.

Led Zeppelin set to reunite for gig
26/06/2007 - 13:02:56

Rock legends Led Zeppelin will reportedly reunite for a one-off memorial concert in honour of their late record boss before embarking on a world tour.

The 'Whole Lotta Love' rockers have only performed a handful of concerts, including Live Aid in 1985, since their split in 1980 following the death of drummer John Bonham.

But singer Robert Plant, guitarist Jimmy Page and bassist John Paul Jones will re-group alongside Bonham's son Jason for a special concert in memory of Atlantic Records founder Ahmet Ertegun in London.

A source said: "Page, Plant and Jones spoke and agreed to do the memorial concert. They are waiting for a definite date.

"And no-one can quite believe it, but during discussions about the concert they all gave the green light to a tour if it all does well and they don't all fall out.

"It has been hoped-for and denied for years. But this is the closest they have ever come to a reunion tour. The feeling is that this is going to happen next year."

Ertegun died in December after seven weeks in a coma following a fall at a Rolling Stones concert.

Plant has sucked since the mid 80s.

I actually have a family friend who house sits for Robert Plant, good friends.
He has been telling me for years they were thinking about but they probably wont. I guess just one show wont hurt though

You're going to call "Stairway To Heaven" "a complete ripoff" because Jimmy Page borrowed, with permission, 15 seconds from Spirit's "Taurus"? And even that 15 seconds is not completely identical. All artists borrow from other artists.

your way off .. they got sued for using the entire beginning of the song ( one of the most famous riffs ) and settled by giving writing credits on the best of albums. Spirit didn't get any royalties for the original and on the original they weren't listed in the credits. only on the newer copies are they given credit. they stoled that song along with all but one on there first album. go read the site and see the proof.

On Stern today they played all the originals and then all the Led Zeppelin versions back to back. most songs even had the same lyrics . on top of that they can prove when the Yard Birds or Zeppelin opened for most of these bands or were exposed to their music.

"Stoled"? They were NOT sued by Spirit. And yes, I already looked at your link. That is not a "riff" BTW, that is called a chord-progression.

As for the other songs, yes I've heard about that many times before. This isn't anything new. They did borrow, but not steal. I agree that the old blues musicians should have been given better credit than they did back then. But that's exactly it, "back then." Things were done a lot differently back then. Led Zeppelin had nothing to hide. Nor did any of the other rock bands from that era that similary borrowed from old blues songs.

I don't blame the band at all, whomever was in charge of Led Zeppelin's management should be held responsible. Things have changed since then.

Riff ..Chord .. its all the same to me. I don't play music but i do listen to it. I'll admit that Zeppelin is a bit before my time and I know things were different then. I'm not disagreeing with you on that i just thought they took a bit more then most and only true fans may have heard about these claims in the past. as a guy that knows their songs and considers them to be Rock Legends i found it surprising just how much they did "barrow" from other unknown bands ..

tony286 06-27-2007 06:01 PM

that would be cool musically but vocally Robert aint there anymore.

yeah but everything in the 80's sucked. Page 4 Life.

I'm not one to see old used-to-be rock stars play in concert though. It's just watching 40 year old rappers. Both are sad.
