Science Vs. Religion: GFY decides once and for all

Clearly gfy is the be all and end all of human knowledge. Let's put our powers to good use and end the silly debate

TripleXPrint 06-26-2007 10:07 PM

I study Science religiously.

Vick! 06-26-2007 10:08 PM

How do you think they are two different things? Science is just half way where religion is.

bigdaddy187 06-26-2007 10:08 PM

Funny my fiance and I had this debate yesterday.

UniversalPass Pete 06-26-2007 10:10 PM

I made up a quote a long time ago and here is the jist of it, "God created Man. Man developed Science. Science destroyed God."

Don't use it, I have it copyrighted. :thumbsup

D 06-26-2007 10:13 PM

Science is my religion.

Science created all. God created all. God is all. All is Science. The Self is God. The Self is Science.

NickSunshine 06-26-2007 10:24 PM

paralavar 06-26-2007 10:47 PM

XTuber 06-27-2007 06:34 AM

  1. Who created God?
  2. What did God do before Earth?
  3. How big is the universe?
  4. What is on the other side of the Universe?
  5. Who manages it all?
  6. If the Big Bang happened, what was there before it?
  7. How did it get into a little ball of matter to start with?
  8. Why did it explode outward?
  9. What would be drawing it back?
  10. How is it possible for an infinite amount of space (in the universe) to only contain ONE God and ONE planet with life on it?
  11. How is it possible for life to randomly start on our, or any other, planet?
-----------------------------------------------------
  • Write a book with lots of fantastical, obviously not possible stories, ridiculous quotes, incoherent jargon, contradictions and double talk.
  • Translate it inaccurately into all languages.
  • Show it to people who can barely read
  • Travel the earth killing and torturing people who disagree with your book.
  • Build giant temples/churches/structures using slaves/followers to worship your book and then molest impressionable young boys in it.
  • And most importantly, secretly do not follow any of the crap in your book.
-----------------------------------------------------
Religion is for Suckers.
Science is for Thinkers.
Reality IS

1) A very distant ancestor of Mel Gibson (How else would he know the gory details of the journey Jesus)

2)Chilled with Santa Clause, thats why Santa throws a kick ass party every year for Jesus (It was Uncle Clause)

3)From Here to the end - give or take a few million light years...

4) God's Patio -- Has a kick ass view!

5) God's little brother Jib

6) A smaller less significant bang -- more of a toot

7) God rolled the shit between his fingers

8) God Flicked It

9) It hit Jib in the face and he throw it back

10) HEY There is 1 GOD and 1 JIB WTF doesn't anyone know about poor ol' Jib

11) My best explanation for this would be that we're kinda like sea monkeys for gods and well it was a short lived fad....

XTube_Kurtis 06-27-2007 08:00 AM

I studied quantum theory...

Lykos 06-27-2007 08:27 AM

Science for sure.

porntertainment 06-27-2007 08:49 AM

  8. Overpressure in my belly
  9. Shit attracts shit
  10. They got that shit wrong actually, it's mom, dad, me, my 3 brothers and about 500 billion trillion planets with life on it.
  11. It wasn't random, I created it, dad was really pissed, he gave a long speech about shitting in ones own backyard

tranza 06-27-2007 10:05 AM

Who voted for religion????

XXXzidane 06-27-2007 10:12 AM

People will believe what they have always believed.
The Religious people will believe in God.
The Science people will believe in science.
Its a never ending fight to which is correct. We'd do best to just let each side believe what they wish just as long as they don't impose their beliefs on the other side.

Did you see the movie I mentioned above? That's exactly what it talks about, but it kind of relates it to spirituality.

XTuber 06-27-2007 11:31 AM

The problem with letting religious nuts free is that they constantly try to convert, impose and threaten non believers with their bullshit theories. You NEVER EVER see scientists on the streets preaching about the moons gravitational pull or sun spots.

There is something to be said for calm, rational thinking vs irrational, emotional hysteria.
