How accurate could those stats really be though??? They aren't even taking into consideration how many turtlenecks an iPhone owner will likely purchase each year...playtime.

in australia any DECENT phone is gonna cost you at LEAST 1500+ just for the handset after that add the 2 year contract...

And according to an AT&T rep I spoke to today, you can't port your current phone number to your new Iphone, you must get a new phone number. I am way over due for a new phone, and it looks like I will get the BB curve instead. $199.00 right now from At&T.

My current plan....
$225 a month x 24 months = $5400 and covers me and my entire family...

same price as a trio or pocket PC plan. Phone price is just a bit higher.

I pay 50 bucks a month for my new cell-phone and that mostly covers the ring/sms fee's too, sometimes it's ~70 but usually 50, dont need more....

But the iPhone seems cool though :)

As for the chart.. I mean your paying for a minute plan no matter what cellphone service your using or what phone you buy. $59 for 450 minutes, unlimited mobile to mobile and *unlimited* data, is reasonable.. You factor out the cost of any phone based on what you pay for service over two years and its going to make you say WTF. I dont get it.

truth is this is the first time the telephone companies are happy that they do not have to reduce the price of the handset to gain a customer. They are finally able to turn a profit rather than subsidize the cost. :2 cents:


If you factor the cost of a phone with service over 2 years and factor in the subsidized cost, you will come out ahead a minimum of $275 :pimp

I have one of those Razor cellphones but I never carry it with me and I cant even remember my own cell #, so I have absolutely no use for this iphone thingy.

You cant consider the monthly plan the over all cost of the phone, like you wouldnt with your home phone.
