good voip besides vonage?

Who else does voip besides vonage?

I called them to ask a few questions, sales bitch was useless and VERY pushy to the point I hung up on her.

V_RocKs 06-26-2007 05:28 PM

I think most resell vonage. Not sure though.

What's the problem with Vonage anyway? They work great for me.

Matt-RevShare 06-26-2007 06:43 PM

I use voicepulse.com and have used them for several years now. Frankly, I do have distortion from time to time, but overall the performance is good.

Every situation is different so it really depends on how often you need to use the phone and what you need it for. I rarely use my phone, but its good to have a phone in the office for customers who want to call me.

I use lingo, too, Chio.

I like being able to check out call activity online-with a teenager and preteen, I am a nosy momma. And I can even call western Europe unlimited amounts.

DaddyHalbucks 06-26-2007 09:31 PM

There are a few providers listed here: VOIP --hope it helps.

I have both the normal vonage and a softphone. The softphone is hit and miss based on the connection I'm on, but is ok 80% of the time. My normal vonage line is PERFECT 100% of the time.

I have love Packet8. I've been with them since 2005, and only had one minor outage when they were moving data centers, which lasted two hours (and went to voicemail).

Their service works ANYWHERE, and you can almost run it on dialup, it uses almost no network traffic; I think the minimum suggested is 64k. Not too sure how much longer I'll need it, but it's great!

I've had Vonage for over a year now and zero complaints.

but I dont think I've ever had to deal with a bitchy salesperson.... or any salesperson... simply signed up online -got the equipment a few days later, installed... and no reason to contact anyone since.

JP513 06-26-2007 10:41 PM

Earthlink was good for me. Got 7,000 bonus miles on Delta too.

Only reason I left them for Vonage was 7500 bonus miles on United.

I have a friend who uses packet 8 and I will use them soon enough.

gornyhuy 06-26-2007 11:02 PM

sunrocket?

I gotta make a move soon before they go tits up and leave me with no phone.

Axzar 06-26-2007 11:12 PM

We use www.aptela.com. They are an online VOIP provider and PBX. They are not the cheapest, but work well for our needs.

Do you have a voip service? Or are you just saying this?

candyflip 06-27-2007 08:13 AM

We had Vonage and switched to SunRocket. Got 2 years of service for $199. Been on there almost a year now and not a single complaint.
