google banworthy?
Lets say I want to promote site X.... right now, site X isn't ready, but I join 10 different forums, and my sig is for X dot com
That's all fine and dandy, Google would have no problem with that. Now let's assume since I'm going to be posting with a sig that isn't monetizable in any way, I just decide to .htaccess 301 redirect that to say a sponsor's webmaster code... Is this a Google bannable offense to have links coming into the root domain redirect somewhere else? If so does it re-adjust when I finally remove the redirect? Sol |
The darker guy in my sig can probably help you.

Why not just have a simple "coming soon" splash page with a prominent link to the site you originally wanted to redirect to?
BTW a 301 is a permanent redirect (as opposed to 302 temporary redirect) so that's probably a baaad idea right off the bat. |
