Do I need this code?
Hi all.
I have seen this code on many sites: <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"> It tells the browser what html I am using or?! Anyway, do I need it? |
Hehe the code didn´t get posted. I try again:
Code:
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"> |
I believe that is the secret code...

What the fuck. I give up. :)

yes, but you need a license to use the secret code.

Hi Shemp.
I am not here so often so I dont know how everything works. Anyway, I mean the DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC stuff that are first in the html file. I putted that in on all my sites because I heard that it should be there so the browser could read it better or something like that. I have loss a big amount of traffic now and maby it is because of that. I dont know. What do you think? |
You mean this stuff?
Code:
<HTML> |
LOL, this thread is funny :1orglaugh
tell me the truth... you are the guy behind The Hun dont you? |
!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 3.2 Final//EN"
You mean that code with the brackets around it? Without that code you don't have qualified html to some browsers. It tells the browsers what version of html to expect in the source. |
Hi JFPdude.
Thats the code. Thanxs for the reply. Sincerely, Emil |
But how do I know what html I am using?
I mean there are like HTML 3.2 and HTML 4.0 and so on. |
