SECOND TRY: Do TGPs that open galleries on a new window....

Do TGPs that open galleries on a new window annoy the surfer???

Are their CTRs better or worse??

Anyone tested this before?

If you have no idea about it, could you at least give me a bump?????

Thanks!!

:thumbsup

Lol, I'll check him out. I have no idea actually if he opens the galleries on a new window or not.

I'll check your site also.

:thumbsup

If it's an established site that has been opening in the same window for years then it may piss off the surfers.

For a newer site the productivity will be far better since the TGP stays open, ready for the surfer to click more once they've closed the gallery.

You're talking about TGPs themselves right, not opening full sized pics on a gal? That's a different story...

Jace 06-25-2007 03:18 PM

personally, i hate it when a new window doesn't open, but that is me

i hate hitting the back button, I would much rather hit the X to close the window

Galleries that do NOT open in a new window annoy the shit outta me. Why? Cause I lose quick access to the rest of links on the TGP. I can click multiple links while the galleries load in the background... also, when they DONT open in a new page, if you click close on that page (thinking that the page behind is the TGP) you just lost track of the TGP.

I could only assume, this could annoy others so Id stay away from NOt opening in a new window.

d-null 06-25-2007 03:30 PM

when in doubt, always <right click> <open in new window>

Opening in a new window helps with your prod...

Not opening in a new window helps inflate your visitor counts.

tranza 06-25-2007 04:35 PM

Thanks for all the answers so far...

Whenever i goto a TGP that does not open in a new window i usually forget and close the gallery with the X then i just lost the site i was at.

Can't you just click the center mouse button to open it in a new window?

million 06-26-2007 01:14 AM

I agree, its much better to open a new window for every link, you'll get much more traffic that way, since most users usually click a couple times more.

...but your page views increase as the surfer reloads multiple times. :2 cents:

What's this good for? I'm sure you can figure it out. :thumbsup
