Forum software

Is VBulletin the best forum software? I need to build a forum for a mainstream site but I have no experience with any forum softwares. Seems most sites are using VB, so I figure there must be a reason.

Anyone have any suggestions I should look at before making the choice of using VB?

Go with VB you'll be happy. Only other real choice is phpbb and I like VB better personally :2 cents:

I use phpbb, basically out of habit at this point, I have just used it so many times, I can't bring myself to switch to VB, although I hear VB SEO is really good.

Invision is by far the best when it comes to SEO. Takes so little to do so much. But like VB its to bloated for my taste
