sex.com parked?
The page I see is not particularly sexy:Oh crap
What a waste. Half way through the book... |
you'd be surprised how well parking can pay
btw PimpRoll bought porn.com and they're keeping it parked too :D |
what a waste
|
Not really a waste. This type of domains earn shit loads just by parking. And there is no hassle of handling development, hosting, up-keep, update, market blah blah.. then, why not park and wait to be offered millions?
PS: but ya, page could be made custom for better CTR and fucking speed of loading could be increased someway. lol |

So a surfer from say Russia gets sold on Miami hotels in English? |

it looks like cyberagemodels.com has something there?
|
Miami hotels is their FIRST link??
That's just dumb. |
It's going to be redone and relaunched from what I'm aware of. Very excited to see how they do with it.
|
yes big things ahead, it could turn out pretty cool.

The first two links I see are: South Beach Hotels and Miami Hotel |
didn't someone just buy it? Maybe they are just parking it till the site is ready to launch.

I keep hearing about how a domain like that makes "tons" just by staying parked, but does anyone have any kind of proof or figures or examples? or even knowledgable speculation?
|
North Americans see sex.com as a cyberage ad, the rest of the world sees it parked. Not that difficult a concept to understand.
|
It's not parked you idiots. Cyberage is paying them for a full page ad.

It's not 1999 anymore. I'm sure it doesn't receive anywhere near the same amount of traffic that it used to.
|
They must have some geographical filtering going on. I'm in Canada and I see cyberagemodes.com - no signs of any Miami hotels or anything even resembling that. They probably figured that Europeans don't pay for sex anyway, so why waste their website space on them :D

is that "tons" of money? depends on what anyone thinks the value of that traffic is and their ability to monetize it. had it been converted to an adult dating/cam site when Gary took it over again instead of a retarded PPC engine without the traffic to support it, it would be netting over a million a month by doing nothing. |

The North American traffic currently takes you to a Cyberage ad and the intl traffic is parked. We will be making changes over the coming weeks, some will hit sooner than others, but all for the better. I am very excited with some of the stuff we have planned. Will keep you all posted. |
That domain is evil i tell thee.

how the fuck can cyberagemodels have 300,000 adult websites .. ?? what the deal there .. ?? not to sound like a complete idiot but yeah .. ?
|
How it is now??

I shudder to think of the sales that one of our geo-ip banners on there would generate. Selling US hotel rooms to type-in surfers from around the world in conjuction with the ulimate domain in adult to me makes no business sense at all. However, as WonderWoman points out, that's all set to change:winkwink: |

http://www.mxn.com/ But yes, people would be surprised at how much parking can bring in per day on premium domains. |
