Sleazydream, Shemp, Ampland and more you are being fucked hard!

Looks like somebody decided to use all these sites:

http://safeadultweb.com/sites/Text_TGPs.html
http://safeadultweb.com/sites/Thumb_TGPs.html

to let his toolbar users surf all your content without being sent to a trade and bypassing your traffic script. So all your productivity reports and numbers will be fucked up. Moreover, if a sale is generated from a gallery the surfer browses on your site SOME OTHER WEBMASTER PROMOTING THE TOOLBAR WILL GET CREDITED, this is fully explained here

http://sawtoolbar.com/webmasters/wm.html#sf

Nobody noticed this???? Btw, the toolbar does not identifu itself with your servers...

I never said you were a sig whore, I said you were riding coat tails to get views for your cause. Why don't you go to those three sites you specificed and show everyone where their trade scripts are?

Hey jact, I believe shemp uses a trade script.

Only in his toplist, not on his actual galleries. I don't consider a toplist to fit into this skim model that's going to suffer because of this toolbar.

I think it will, look at the volume just from his toplist. ;-)

Well, I saw a big list of sites, picked three random ones, it might be possible that some do not run trade scripts, however, the ref code problem is still there, and as much as I would like to alert all the owners of those sites, I lots of stuff to do, which includes a way of stopping this program form using my sites for their benefit, so I fugured since this forum moves fast, a lot of ppl would read it and would find out for themselves. Maybe next time, I should just keep it to myself and let everybody find out ( talk about networking )

I'm sure it'll have some impact, but as he doesn't skim, it may or may not have direct impact. It depends on how the toolbar interacts with his toplist urls. My understanding is on a skim, it just skips the trade part and sends them to the gallery. Which IMHO isn't a bad thing, way too many skim TGPs that remind me too much of the old CJ days.. No content, all jerking around.

Edit: Also, there's no way in knowing how many people have this installed, so it won't be a measurable thing.

hum i gotta play with this later today and see what i find....

There's already a thread on this subject on the main page. Anyhow, I wish you luck as it seems your business will be crushed if this toolbar propigates like people fear it will. I hear blogs are cool this year. :pimp

Don´t you think that I have the right to choose how I run my sites? Somebody is forcing my scripts to work differently, and is using MY sites. Also, the ref codes going to the webmaster with the most installs, will take the sales away from you, wether you skim or not!

Of course you have the right to choose how you run your sites, but I also have a right to not like your choice, that's the wonderful thing about freedom.

As far as I was aware, there was no malware element in this toolbar (yet) and it was simply bypassing trade scripts?

Don't fearmonger, use facts.

Here you have the facts, from their own website:

#

As an active affiliate, you may list some of your sponsors (!) in the pay site links section of SAW Toolbar. This means that all SAW Toolbar users will be able to visit your sponsors directly from their toolbars! All you need to get this opportunity are at least 10 active installs every day.
The amount of your sponsors listed at SAW Toolbar depends on the average number of active installs you make. It's being calculated as following:
[The amount of your sponsors to be listed at SAW Toolbar] = [The average amount of active installs you make daily] : 3
Here are some examples:
# Make 10 daily installs - and get 4 of your sponsors listed at SAW Toolbar;
# Make 20 daily installs - and get 7 sponsor spots;
# Make 30 - and get 10;
# Make 100 installs daily - and get 35 sponsor spots!

Again, your sponsors will be listed in ALL SAW TOOLBAR COPIES currently installed worldwide - not only in ones which installed from your affiliate links!

If your sponsor will be already taken by another affiliate, you'll have to choose another one. But if it will belong to our own sponsor lists, we may easily remove our one to list yours.

You should hurry to reserve the best converted sponsors to your account.

Goody, I wonder what they'd give me for 1000+ daily installs.

(I am kidding, I don't sell installs, do installs, promote installs, believe in installs -- It's just amusing to watch the skim guys freak out).

Well, if any surfer with this toolbar installed visits a no skim site and decides to buy a membership the credit will go to some other webmaster, why did you get stuck with the ¨skimming ¨part?

On a side note, I'll have something very soon for everyone that will 99.99% effectively protect against people rewriting affiliate codes. :upsidedow

I hope to see that soon.

To reply to something you said earlier in the thread:

I knew there'd be at least a few people like Shemp and Sleazy who might say they don't use trades scripts in the typical sense, so it won't effect them. But even if some of them don't skim, all those sites in their non-skim toplists, DO skim and use traffic scripts in the normal way.

It stand to reason that if Shemp and Sleazy and Zilla are on their list of sites that should be browsed with this toolbar, the creators are just going to follow the toplists and add more and more sites to their database. As that happens, the sites that are skimming into those non-skim sites are going to start seeing less and less prod from their incoming traffic, and start sending less and less back.

So while it might not effect them directly, right now, it will cause problems with their trade partners and eventually effect their incoming traffic.
