Ok, I just got back from the club and I'm fucked up... I ordered a #1 with cheese, no pickles and my food is cold. Usually, I'm a happy customer... I guess it's one of those nights :2 cents:

Amp's gonna kill me for this, but IMO White Castle is THE worst fastfood ever produced by any fastfood store in the US.

The food fucking sucks.

i've been waiting for a post like this all night. i'm fucked up, packing for vegas(going friday). sounds like you had a good night. this has no point, so i'm going to post it now... i think this might be #200 for me though :)

The reason they get alot of biz is because it's 24hours and it's well known. We're in the same state and I should have went to Steak & Shake but I was to lazy to drive down the street :mad:

You know you are getting good fast food if it makes you sick. White Castle makes me sick every time...unless I go easy on the Sliders. I can handle the fries and vanilla milkshakes...it's the onion cooked into those burgers that kills me...

Also known in some locales as Royal Castle. When I was a teen (I'm 55 now), we used to go to Royal Casle and order like six burgers at a throw. That's per person. Before you fall out of your chair, it should be explained that a White Castle/Royal Casle burger is about the size of a Hostess Cupcake, so it would take about six of them to equal a 1/3 lb burger in volume.

The patty is miniscule, the bun is so airy and moist it's almost diaphanous, and unless ordered otherwise, they are served with grilled onions and a couple pickles.

They are not the best burgers in the world. You go there for the cheesy atmosphere and for reasons (in my case) of nostalgia. However, even the atmosphere is not what it was when I was young. It's been KFC'ed or something (another restaurant that isn't quite the same as I remember it being).

1 Jerk in the box ultimate cheeseburger = 6 white castle cheeseburgers... white castle tastes really really good though!

My favorite fast food joint is TOPDOG hotdogs on Durant street in Berkeley, SF Bay Area. Man, I miss that place. Affordable and good--awesome combination. Pink's hotdogs on La Brea and Melrose in Los Angeles comes in second........a distant second at that.

Awwww, you had to mention White Castle, I haven't had that in over a year now. Sure, there's the microwavable burgers, but they're just not the same as having it made fresh. I could go for a few of them right now, time to take a road trip, he he he.

WORD! My and my crew used to hit up the 24hr one in El Cerrito (East Bay) after the bar or club on the weekends.

Mmm, nothing like making a drunk commotion in Nations at 3 in the morning, with all your best friends ~ double dipping your fries in eachother's ketchup, and starting sh*t with the booth next to your's....

Ahahaha ~ I used to go to Top Dog ALL the time. I'd flirt with that *hot* long haired rocker guy who worked there for the longest time... I forget his name. That was when I was a lolita and he wasn't about that ~ but I got a free linguica every once in a while :Graucho

The Taco Bell down the street doesn't stay open late enough for me...12 or 1, I think. Now if it's the middle of the night...you either go to a breakfast house, greasy truck stop, or Steak N Shake. All good choices. What's better than a Steak N Shake vanilla shake and an order of cheese fries at 2 am? Unless I'm in the mood for some truck stop bisquits and gravy....

Chicken rings?!?! What part of the chicken is shaped like a ring? I can only think of one and I wouldn't want to eat it.

Just drive to the most dangerous part of town. They'll be a White Castle there waiting for you!

Yeah, I remember that guy as well. I was going to school at Cal during the early 90's and the guy was working at Top Dog [south side] during that time. Also ran into him after an AC DC concert in Oakland. Guy was cool.

One of the cool things about TopDog was the libertarian cartoons they posted all over the place. Back then I was a flaming socioliberal and hated that shit. As I got older [and started accumulating more stuff and had to pay taxes] I saw how right on those cartoons were.
