Question for Video Editors who use FCP

In Final Cut Pro, is there an easy way to eliminate or significantly lessen background noise caused by say an air conditioner. Like a filter or something?

i believe Soundtrack Pro can help with that

I don't use FCP or Mac, but you should go to one of the video forums like http://www.DVInfo.net and do a search on noise reduction, which will likely lead to some info on the tools avail to do this and tutorials on how to best use the apps features to achieve the best result. I've experimented a few times with Adobe Encore for the pc and it worked pretty well.

hit me up on ICQ I use Final Cut a Ton!

Sound Track Pro will let you open the audio and do this:
Then Click Analyze:
Make sure you select Clicks and Pops and Powerline Hum
let it process the file
on the bottom click "fix all"

Then Run the LowPass/High Pass Filter and Tweak it to where the hum goes away but the voices/other sounds don't get muted.

hope this helps!
