I think most ppl are probably waiting for the iPhone to come out, if they're in the market for a new phone right now.

Screaming 06-20-2007 01:19 PM

hear it can stream vids, that would be so hot.

you could upload vids for the kids, and stream them on car rides.

here, watch dora and spongebob

BlackBerry Curve — the smallest, lightest BlackBerry smartphone with a full QWERTY keyboard. WoW!! Any more reviews??

Peaches 06-20-2007 01:58 PM

Mine just got here TODAY!! :) I haven't taken it out of the box yet. I feel like a kid at Christmas :)

Sosa 06-20-2007 02:02 PM

hope you like it. My treo 700wz has to last me another 1.5 years

Peaches 06-20-2007 04:18 PM

Out of the box (yeah, I'm slow) and charging. It's a LOT smaller than I thought it was going to be - it fits in my hand and I have a small hand. It's adorable :) Can't wait to see how it is to surf with.

NaughtyRob 06-20-2007 04:25 PM

I want it, but then again I want the iphone, so I dont know.

I would buy it in a second if it had wifi. The next one coming out suppossedly has wifi.

This thread needs some pics...

Peaches 06-20-2007 05:57 PM

Now that it's charged it says my Sim card has been rejected :(

I'll deal with this tomorrow.......and yes, I bought it directly from ATT with my cell number already loaded - no Ebay or anything ;)

OK, it's up, it's running and it ROCKS! The only complaint is the QWERTY keyboard and that's just because I'm not used to it. I spent 5 minutes looking for "E" until I put my fingers on the keys like a laptop - doh ;) Waiting for the unlimited data plan to go into effect before I start surfing. If I get on there before I'll end up with $1000 bill just for playing around.

Yeah with any of these BB or Treo phones you gotta have unlimited data plans if you plan on surfing with it. I don't use my on the net as much as I should and my data plan is like $35/month or something with Alltel.

Clark Howard is an idiot. Now I want to send mine back :(

So far in playing with it, I MOSTLY like it but 3 things so far have me ticked:

I can't access my Earthlink email via their website because the browser isn't Java enhanced

No ICQ

No MapQuest support (which you'd think isn't a biggie since I have 2 GPS units, but there are still places GPS doesn't think exist, but are on MapQuest)

quiet 06-21-2007 08:15 PM

There is a gogglg emaps application you can download for blackberry. There are like 5 emulation modes for brosers on the blackberry, along with various settings, maybe try playing with that peaches.

I keep telling my wife I want the iPhone but I don't really -- it does look cool though.

The CURVE, though, looks freaking amazing.

My 3 requirements for my next phone are:

1) QWERTY keyboard (check!)
2) 2.0 MP camera (check!)
3) MP3 player via memory card with regular stereo headsets (check!)

To the person who responded about the wifi -- do you want the wifi on there because it will be faster than the EDGE network?

Also, I've gotta wait for this bad boy to get over to Sprint or Verizon. Time to consolidate all my devices & this one looks like the toy to beat.

dougeetx 06-21-2007 11:34 PM

it looks huge

Granted it was dark and it had to use its flash, but I swear pics I took with it last night were worse than what my non-flash RAZR took. I'll have to see what it will do in the daylight.

Thanks for the info, quiet - I'll look around for a different way to browse. I didn't get the "email" package thinking I could access all my major email accounts through the web - ooops!

It's weird you can use from what I can tell EVERY OTHER IM except ICQ, lol.
