adult dating sites and new 2257 rules
As I interpret the Adam Walsh Act additions to 2257, it seems that adult dating sites will be hit by these new regs because of the new inclusion of ?lascivious exhibition of the genitals and pubic area?. If you view this passage conservatively, it seems that any nude pictures your members upload will be subject to the rule, and you will need to force your members to upload releases and copies of ID to publish them to the site. In looking around at some of the bigger adult dating sites out there, it seems as if each of them is approaching this subject a bit differently. Some (like the biggest) do not address the issue at all when it comes time to upload photos. Another large and more recent site has you put the name and address of the record holder if you upload nude photos.
In my eyes, it seems that the only way to truly comply is for the site owner to possess copies of the ID for any nude pictures, but most companies out there seem not to agree. Anyone from adult dating sites out there with thoughts on this?
