well, this is one thing that even if you don't win, you still win

this is going to get pretty major press coverage and if you get your theme listed on the entries page it will see some nice action....and just imagine 3000 people downloading your theme with a single link on the bottom of every theme installed

wow that would be a good contest for sure.. would the winning theme available for others to use in the future?

excellent point, and it look slike it's a mor eminimalist approach being taken to the design concept, so who knows? maybe i will take a shot at it...
