Hey anyone know what the fucking deal is with all these Tube type sites?
 

With all the different things Ive have heard so far on these sites whats your involvement with this type of site and whats your opinion of this type of site it seems like there a quite a few different things Flying around whats your spin?:upsidedow

get cheap bandwidth and ads that convert. risky in my opinion if you can't manage bandwidth to ad roi.

ok lets talk about "Bandwidth" for a second what do you think the ratio in dollars/Strength per say day or month is compared to a normal TGP?

BW can be trimmed down if you compress the fuck outta the vids.

I've got a tube site in beta right now and it's not so bad, like 2mb for a 30 second clip. I'm toying with the bitrates and such.

Figure a 16 picture gallery (of decent quality pics) is going to be around 2mb total and if you can get the same ad clicks out of a 30 second clip that you'd get from a picture gallery then that's something comparible.

Anytime someone comes up with a scheme that works for one person, there's gonna be an outburst of copycats and clones. i suspect there's going to be even more and more tube type sites popping up at faster and faster rates, and more and more tube related failures. same way a bunch of digg type sites started popping up...

Ok lets say someone was to get up a site like this....

How besides having banner type ads that convert could you make a dollar?

Seems like there is absolutly no linking to any other sites?

The short films can from 10 seconds to 20 mins depending and most times there is very little as a watermarks on them.

How are they getting this crazy traffic in such a short time frame?

www.snizzshare.com is the leader in producer promoted content.

like was said above, once you do something its bound to be copied hundreds of times over. i personally think that snizzshare is the free porn model of the future. its an innovation to say the least.

Where should someone be looking at going fo rmore information at developing a tube type of site?

Mark, how would you rate Tube-type sites compared to the other upload sites like http://www.badongo.com ? Are they both the way of the future or is one preferred over the other?

Both types of sites seem to grow fast, rely on user-uploaded content, and base their revenue on text and somtimes banner ads.

I was amazed at badongo which was launched by the former owners of book-mark.net not very long ago (a year or two?). Now it's ranked as the 101st largest site online according to Alexa.

Everyday this site is updated and its 13 minutes into the next day right now and just one of the videos has over 150 veiws the rest has around 40 to 70!

In thirteen minutes thats a fair amount of surfers there in a randon timeframe...:thumbsup

tubes will be out in a couple months.. everyone and their mom will have one.. have to think past that

Five mins later it has almost doubled highest is now over 400 views:)

But here is the thing how is anyone making money here?

If these surfers are viewing free porn wheres the revenue?

Right I just dont understand how anyone is making any money by showing 10 minute free movie clips if your giving the surfer everything they want right on your site then sure they will bookmark and comeback.

The idea of tubes is nice, but you are right, the clips are way too long, even loads of full movies there. It's another example how dating eats paysites for breakfast.

Are Sponsors loosing so much money that the are buying spots on them now just to stay afloat?

It would seem that with all the new paysites that have emerged in the last few years alone that the competition out there is getting bigger.

How with huge ass bandwidth bills per month are these types of site making money if all the surfers are watching free movies at the webmasters expense?

What percentage of them are signing up to the banner ads?

well Im thinking of giving it a shot I just need some reference and it seems that this type of site is on the verge of eruption everywhere.

We make money by using the sponsors that we're getting vidz from! We typically only give out a "taste" of what's happening. We'll have banners for the full sites. We send the traffic..you get the signups. It's a harmonious relationship.

so your basically running it like a TGP but without linking to other sites.

where are you getting your traffic to start?
