Panama City, Panama
Who has been there? How recently? What did you think of it? Would you ever live there?
I'm moving in 5 days no matter what, just wanna get more of an idea what I am getting myself into...:1orglaugh |
i'm moving there in about 2 months. I've been there about 6 times in the last year, and it's pretty cool. Takes a while to get used to driving there, but theres tons to do and everything's cheap.
sounds like a nice place to live in...
Talk to Z from LionDollars. He's there and loves it. Great country.

He he YCaza, Mike Hawk, Steve Lightspeed amongst many others have been down there to visit. Dean (Biggles) from Webcams is based there more than he is in Australia. Pedro (Inabon) has Koaby Hosting down there as well. :winkwink: |
looks like panama is a nice place to relax...
was there.. i like. its a bit like a banana republic..but seems friendly and upbeat.
what are you going to do there? |
A good friend of mine in the biz moved there almost a year ago and loves it. The family is already filing for citizenship. I'm planning on heading down there in July/August (rainy season - goody!) to visit and perhaps see if I can afford anything ;)
what do you need to know exactly..
biz = :thumbsup financial = :thumbsup lifestyle = :thumbsup |

pretty decent prices. nice bandwidth |
Dang I was just looking at houses there they look pretty cheap
We want pics :)
I loved Panama City, awesome nightlife, good food, great internet, I think the entire city is nearly wireless
Downfall, all taxi's are hot, stinky and sticky lol |
hmmmmmm :)
Good place I hear. I'm looking to spend some time down there next year, but I won't be on the condo buying craze there anytime soon.
My friends actually live in a condo in Coronado while they build in PC. They have broadband and the condo offers generator power for all the residents if/when the main power grid goes out.
The wife said the most frustrating part is the language barrier - she's finally figured out how to say a few things so she can shop, but once they hear her make her requests, they think that means she knows the language and they start taking back to her - none of which she understands, lol. They hired a translator to go with them for big ticket item purchases. And they have a maid 8 hours a day, 6 days a week for $250 a month - THAT I could get used to!! :) |

I'm considering moving there as well. Here's a great English resource about Panama.
Great Reputation! Hope all do not rush to it and make it populated! :1orglaugh
was there in Feb at the panama summit.. really impressed with the place. seems like you want to have a driver in the city but at $100-200 per month why not.
not sure if I'd consider the condo towers a great deal for what you get. had no problem finding good food, good shopping, and plenty of sketchy nightlife. we did have some problems in the casinos.. |
Im going there as well with abcx, I cant wait, Im really excited to get there and leave all the bad things behind about the usa. Ive heard panama is a tax haven lol. Only a few days to go....:thumbsup:thumbsup:thumbsup:pimp
i have been there and lived in Guayaquil Ecuador for almost a year...i would recommend Guayaquil Ecuador over Panama on my expericnes but Panama is nice too. I felt Safer in Guayaquil. Salinas Ecuador is 60min car drive and has amazing beaches. Very friendly people, very cheap to live. Can get a crazy beach house overlooking the pacific ocean for $40K to $60K. The dollar goes very far in Ecuador...
Good Luck with the move. ***MAKE SURE YOU ONLY TRAVEL WITH $1 and $5 bills. Nobody ever has change of anything bigger ; ) |
double post
triple post...
what happened sorry |
I was there and LOVED IT
have fun, have a great life! |
Im not sure I want to go somewhere where the locals only have 5 bucks or less haha. Panama sounds great for me, Just need to be in the good part:thumbsup:pimp
Speaking of $$$ that's another nice thing my friend like about Panama - they use the USD for currency :)

I love Panama :) Will be heading down again soon :thumbsup
I see Panama has changed their tourist visa process and living as a perpetual tourist will be pretty tough.
What ways did some of you legally get a visa for Panama. Ie did you enter as a retired person and how did you prove you were making $500 a month without working etc. |
Costa Rica RULEZ!!!
The M&B crew was down there in March, we hung out with Z (he showed us all around) and we all had a FANTASTIC time! :thumbsup
