Nicorette Gum is worse then cigarettes
I been cig free for the last few days and i was about at my peek. I bought that Nicorette Gum and tried it and it taste like someone dumped a ashtray in my mouth. I can actually taste the nicotine more with the gum then i can with the cigs.
What did you ex smokers use to quit or was it cold turkey? |
Oh I thought you were going to present some stats that suggest that the gum was worse to your health than cigs.

I used nicorette for 2 months when I quit. I loved it, as bad as that sounds.
It's been going on 6 years, but if I think about it enough I can jones for a piece of it pretty bad. |
I went to Matrix Laser Centers in San Diego and after one session it did what no other product was able to do. It stopped me smoking 40 a day for the last 20 years.
I tried that gum shit, the patch , the 12 step program and a whole load more this laser treatment took away my cravings completly. Its been 9 months since the treatment and the smell of smoke just makes me feel sick. And just because its a laser dont worry there is no pain at all. It does make you feel very relaxed. I feel asleep for 20 minutes in the clinic. |
My Father's diagnosis of terminal lung cancer made it rather easy to quit.

I got addicted to the gum! The pepermint flavor with the sweet chicklet hard type shell coating.
It's almost better than cigs! |

cold turkey....mow for 4 months already
|
that's not true, its the smoke that's bad for u, not the nicotine.
|
I threw up when i tried that shit
|
Patches were a good start but I couldn't do it now without the gum. If the 4mg gum is making you sick try stepping down to the 2mg stuff. I'm going on 5 months now and counting! :thumbsup
*I used to smoke a pack and a half a day* |

They use it in Canada to help people kick drugs and alcohol, maybe that will be coming to the USA soon ? |

Cold turkey hrmmmm I cant make it past the first three days. My will power is weak when it comes to cigs.
|
I quit cold turkey :pimp
|
tried it all, nothing would help me beat the craving.
after being told I had COPD, I decided to slow down untill I stop I am now down to 6 cigs a day from 25 cigs a day , so far so good. |
I quit for a pre-planned 6 month trial run, and used Nicorette a few times, as I was a bartender at the time, and didn't want to bite anyone's head off. I don't remember it being all that bad. You're not supposed to really chew the stuff, you realize... but keep it 'pouched' in your gum-line like tobacco - giving it like one chew every 5-10 mins or so.
I then quit about a year later for real... did it right - set a date, let everyone know I was quitting (for support), etc... used the patch program to the letter. The patch made it easier, but the 2 days after I stepped off the last of the patch was probably as bad as my entire first week going cold turkey (with 2-3 sticks of Nicorette) all crammed into those 2 days... but, by that point I wasn't desiring another cig, necessarily - but rather, another patch. I broke out in a slight body rash (rarer side effect of using trans-dermal medication - especially for addictive substances)... but I haven't smoked a cig in 7 years now... so I'll call it a win. Still wasn't the gum or the patch that did it for me. No force in the world will kick nicotine for you - you gotta do it yourself. |
ugh, i used to smoke like two packs a day for about four or five years. i eventually just quit cold turkey somehow. i had tried several times prior to that only to fail and be miserable about it, though. i guess i just had to be 100% ready.
