I want some Absinthe
What's a good bottle and where is the best place to order it.
Is eabsinthe.com the best? |
Yea I wanna try some of that shit too...
|
I don't know but I had some of Asthma's one night a couple years back and damn it doesn't take much before you start seeing things. :)

Talk to Jace he had some awhile ago.

No, eabsinthe.com is not the best (at least not in my opinion).
I found seborabsinth.com to be superior, but to be honest I have only purchased absinth online 6-7 times, so im no expert. At any rate, seborabsinth.com's absinth is only 55% and is actually so incredibly smooth you wouldnt belive it. Also, it contains the maximum legally allowed amount of tjuhone (the active ingredient from the wormwood). A good bottle will be any bottle, i even think they have some sorta starter kit now if thats what youre looking for. I'd buy two 70cl bottles and a spoon for starting out if it was me though. |
There basically is no real Absinthe anymore. People buy bottles of that stuff and get totally fucked up....because its 50% alcohol.

I've been wanting to try some for a while now too. I'll
have to check out some of the sites mentioned above. What does it taste like? Hope it's not horrible like Everclear! |

They actually found a loophole in the US law, so now it's legally made and imported here (the US) as long as the Thujone is no greater than 10mg per Litre. http://bottlegang.blogspot.com/2007/...go-yonder.html |
Worm Wood
If it doesn't have that it's not absinthe ...
This guy sold me some "green fairy" or something from Mexico a few years ago. Really strong, got you drunk ... thats it ... I brought it over to a friend of mine ...we compared it to some stuff he smuggled out of the czech republic or someplace from a recent trip overseas. We had a good laugh at the "legal" US absinthe but I was bummed I shelled out a bunch of clams for bullshit ... |
I can send you original Absinthe if you tell me how :)

The whole wormwood thing has always been more hype than fact. It relaxes - it doesn't cause visual effects. |
that was really nice!!! I've tried having a bottle of it with my friends... and after we've finished that bottle... we were like so high in alcohol!!! that Absinthe really hit me hard in the head... but it was really nice!!! :thumbsup

Nevermind then, I got plenty of shit to "relax" me... I always thought it was a hallucinogen-type drink or something... |

thats why you mix it with cold water. I mix it 1:3 means it doesn´t have a lot more alcohol than a strong red wine. :2 cents: |

So, now that we got that all out and discussed and out in the open for everyone to think about, back to my original questions
Anyone have any experience with eabsinthe.com? And what bottle do you recommend. I remember someone recommended some Czech lable a while ago, but I forgot the name of it. |

http://www.eabsinthe.com/French-Absi...duct_info.html or http://www.eabsinthe.com/Swiss-Absin...duct_info.html they also have high quality ! But beside the quality its always a matter of taste :2 cents: |
Please see my sig for the best absinthe! the stuff here has lots of thujone - so it will actually work. Most places will sell you crap with very little thujone.

Seriously, though - I might not always know what I'm talking about (and try to make allowances when I might not) , but I do here. Personally, I dig on absinthe. It provides you with a very lucid buzz so that your mind's alert while you're exeriencing the effects. but thujone (do feel free to google it - just be sure you're reading legit pages) which is the 'active ingredient' in wormwood, doesn't provide hallucinations. I've, quasi-legally, brewed/conditioned with the stuff several times myself - and drank lots and lots of wormwood-laced beverage, before I bothered researching the matter to truly realize that wormwood is not a hallucinogen... sure, this is the same sutff that, reportedly, Oscar Wilde, and Picasso, and Van Gogh got wrecked on before they were inspired or chopped their ear off - but high levels of alchohol can do that to a man, just as well - especially when it's mixed with a lot of the mind-stabilizing botanicals (such as wormwood) that absinthe contains. Aico - lots of different varieties of absinthe out there... some sweet, some strong, some very botanical. What you prefer depends on your personal taste. The Czech stuff is generally regarded as the original stuff, but the French make some decent stuff, too, as they came into making it soon after the Czech's did. Never tried the Swiss stuff, but if it's like anything else they put their minds to, i'm sure it's great. You'll want the higher alchohol stuff, in any case. Thujone levels will cost you - maybe they're worth it for you, maybe they're not... just don't expect to see green fairies, no matter how high the levels get. |
